"We used almost all amenities while staying here: the locker room, lap pool, fitness center, business center, and restaurants. The staff was wonderful, the food delicious, the pools were great to use for my morning swim. We would stay again. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't get any WIFI connection in our room, even our phones said "emergency calls only"- so if you stay at the end of the hall with rooms 200, be aware you may not have service."

"We have been coming here for the last few years for the Durango Iron Horse Classic tour. We stay in the cabins. The cabins are cleans, beds are comfortable, and the property is chill. The cabins have running water and air conditioning. Great bargain overall."

"Stayed in Durango for the night on the way from California to Colorado Springs. Older motel but in clean condition. The room had a small frig in it, desk, tv and a decent bed. It was great for a one night stay for the price. Ask for rooms towards the back as the front street is really busy. The front attendant was very helpful and nice. If you are looking for a high end room, this is not the place for you."

"Nice old vintage feeling hotel. With working neon sign ! The lobby has beer decorations and the owner was very nice. Room was clean and everything worked in there. Yeah there was some small stuff with drywall a Karen could complain about but it didn’t bother us. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again."

"The property is immaculately maintained, with an excellent staff and wonderful hosts (Jim and Leslie). Easy drive to Durango, hot springs, Purgatory ski slopes, etc make this one of my favorite B-N-Bs. The morning breakfast is just cherries on top!"

"For the price the room was so so but pretty noisy being on the first floor. The shower was a polar experience as there was zero hot water. I wouldn’t want to stay longer than a night. There is a nice park behind the motel, easy access across a little bridge that crosses a creek for walking your dog so that was nice. The front desk woman was nice and helpful as well."

"We booked this hotel largely because of the pool and hot tub. When we checked in we were informed the heating element for both was out, so the hot tub wasn’t working and the pool was chilly, but at least open. Okay, we can work with that. However, when we went to swim, it was obvious the pool filter wasn’t working properly either. There was algae growth around the filter and filter ducts, a pool light with exposed wiring wrapped in duct tape pulled from the open socket to poolside linoleum and...

"The General Palmer was an awesome hotel. I loved the historic aspect of the hotel, especially the elevator. The outdoor seating area overlooking the mountains, downtown, and the Durango and Silverton railroad depot was great too. The breakfast in the morning was good also."
