"This was our first time here. The property is beautiful! The kids LOVED playing at the main pool, lagoon & other pool w/ pirate ship splash pad. Our only complaint is the water in all these areas is very warm except the pool by the pirate ship. Maybe when they build the new water slide area they will include a system that keeps the water cool & refreshing. Food & drinks were delicious but also expensive. "Its a nice place with lots of potenial. The staff is friendly and the place is quiet and relaxing. A bar near the pool would improve the experience. Since people has to walk almost to the street to ask for a drink. Rennovations to fix that are in place, which is a plus. The rooms would need some updates too. The bathroom sink was poorly clean and a floor too. But rooms are very confortable, just need a little much to be perfect. We enjoyed our stay, best trip so far to the keys. "

"This is not the newest or most luxurious hotel, but it is nicely updated, very family-friendly, clean, close to everything and the staff are VERY nice and helpful. Would definitely stay again and bring the kids here."

"Great experience overall! Clean hotel and pool, great local food and convenient shuttle service to downtown Key West. We did on site laundry… were told one price for a bag of clothing and were charged another, even though all items fit into their laundry bag and closed. We had the mimosa package special upon booking and it was never delivered upon, they stated we would get that refunded to us. Those were our only two complaints! "

"We have been coming to the Islander for five years every summer to celebrate my son’s birthday. We are fans even before the renovations. This property is very convenient for families and you dont ever have to leave the hotel. Everything is right there and kid friendly. The pool has service with food and drinks. Only until 4PM. "I mentioned that this was our anniversary and we were upgraded to an amazing room with an awesome view! And we were provided a nice bottle of champagne chocolates, and a nice card.
