Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organised. We've compiled a list of top travel tips that will get your Leunen escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you take the right gear. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and choose shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to slip on and off.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
