Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Bondues could be simple and straightforward or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some useful hints that will help you start your next big adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a worry-free flight experience is to pack ahead. First up, the essentials: passport, boarding pass, cash and important medications. Next, take on board items that'll help keep you busy, like some electronic devices or a good read. You'll also want to pack your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Last but not least, be sure to squeeze in toiletries like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your plane are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and bring a cardigan as the temperature can drop in the cabin on long-haul flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this from happening. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks may also help.
