“Blue? It’s green!” we hear you cry! The other side is blue, but this side is green, the colour for Islam. Standing since 1913, this is the gate that represented all the Arabian Night stories. We got up at 5.30am to get shots without people. If you like this angle you need to head to the roof of the Cascade Hotel. For a few dirhams the sleepy doorman will let you in and lead you up. This alleyway in the ancient medina of Fes, was tucked away and hidden. This rainbowroad caught our eye when we just happened to look down an alley behind a half open door. An iconic sight for sure, the tanneries of Fes was absolutely interesting to take in. As well as the smell, which wasn't as bad as I anticipated - and they gave us a bundle of mint to smell if it got too bad. :) Here you can see all the different colors of leather dyed...and dried...and here you will find the biggest selections and best prices for leather products at the surrounding leather shops that have a veranda to see the men at work below. Yes, yes I did acquire a bag while I was there - and it has Berber carpet on it too - double score! :)
