"This was by far the most heinous place I’ve ever stayed. Stains all over the carpet, mattress, blankets, walls, ceiling, shower curtain. There were cigarette burns through the blankets and sheets. The window heat/AC unit had a layer of gunk on it years old. Dirty tissues were stuffed in the cracks of the window with a piece of filthy tape to “hold the window closed”. The gap in the door to the outside was large enough for anything that is most definitely living in that space to come and go as they please along with the ice cold winter air. The $175 I spent at Walmart on fabric sanitizers, Ozium air bombs, and a HEPA air purifier weren’t enough to even touch how bad the smell is of that place and everything that had the misfortune of being in our luggage and entering the room. If you’ve never felt like you needed to light your suitcase on fire to kill whatever smells and creatures are in it before taking it back in your house, this will be your first. When I tell you this was the worst way I’ve ever spent $675 ($225/night), and quite possibly much more on trauma therapy in the coming months, I am not being the least bit funny. "
"Lists a gym but theres a sign on the door that says it's closed. No hot water the first morning I was there, shade blinds were broken and stuffed above the window, there was light staining on the comforter as well. Front desk staff had an "oh well too bad, don't care" attitude about every issue. "
"The room needed some upgrades. The carpet appeared to have burns in it, some of the fixtures weren't in the best condition (ex: AC wasn't functioning correctly), and the light switch in the bathroom was cracked open. Some of these are minor fixes that would go a long way to improve the feel of the stay. Staff was nice at check-in, but the people staying there the night we did left a lot to be desired. A lot of folks in and out late into the night, being loud abd disruptive, and it smelled as if someone was smoking in a neighboring room- I woke up feeling like I smoked a pack of cigarettes. Not totally the property's fault, but pushing tenant etiquette would go a long way. I stayed here due to the higher rating on this site, but I was completely underwhelmed."
"Amazing top-floor views on both sides—definitely the highlight. Clean rooms and common areas, nice decor, and I loved the no-carpet floors. Amenities were fine but felt standard for the price. The pool was nice but a bit stark without greenery.
Downsides: limited healthy breakfast options. The surrounding area isn’t pedestrian-friendly (few sidewalks/crosswalks), especially for those with disabilities, and there was some trash around, though it felt safe.
Overall: Great views and cleanliness, but room for improvement in breakfast and walkability."
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Christiansburg by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Breakfast was excellent with turkey sausage, pork sausage and bacon all offered. Coffee machines featured freshly ground beans. Property was clean and quiet. Staff at desk were very friendly"
"Very disappointed with the expedia & quality inn!!
For the price we paid, ( $170)we truly felt conned!! As the pics in expedia shows lovely 3 star hotel with upgrades. But the reality was it’s a beaten down motel with dirty carpets, super suspicious dirty & stained couches, as if picked up from roadside !! Which costs $50/night
They have done some upgrades, that ain’t gonna change the fact it is nothing but a shady roadside motel. Booked a non smoke room. But had cigarette smell in the room. Breakfast is just super junky sugary food.Only good thing about this stay was super friendly staff. "
