What a delight! Great to be welcomed into someone’s home. Really interesting conversations with the owner, helpful suggestions and lovely French breakfast.
This is a very cosy and friendly stay. We enjoyed it very much. Very nice breakfast with local variety.
We arrived after 2 am in the midnight but the boss waked up for kind reception.
The host was great, staying up late to greet us and providing a short history talk on the town on arrival. He gave us a tour of the property and explained everything thoroughly. The breakfast was exceptional, most of the elements were sourced locally. The host stayed with us and chatted whilst we ate which was a really nice touch. The rooms were really nice too and provided everyhting we needed.
We stayed at Fabien’s place overnight on our way down to the south of France with my family of 5. We missed our eurotunnel train so didn’t arrive till 22.30 but was no problem for Fabien who was there to welcome us and show us around a room ideal for our family. Breakfast was local and delicious and just what we needed with a long drive ahead, and he is a super friendly host. Would definitely stay there again on our travels 👌
We used this as a stop over on our way back from France to the Netherlands. Really friendly host, who also speaks good English. Very helpful finding/advising a place to eat. The family room was really nice, possible to sleep there with 3 children, something you don't find everywhere. Room was well equipped, with coffe, tea, water available. Plenty of clean towels, really good shower. Good breakfast with plenty local and/or homemade food. Will definitely consider this option again.
Our host was very helpful and quite happy that we had arrived an hour earlier than expected. There was plenty of parking, the room was a good size and very clearn. Breakfast was amazing though sadly, because we had to get to Paris at a certain time and the farmers blocking the autoroutes, we had to leave early and couldnt take advantage of most of the excellent fare !
We needed an overnight stop en route to the olympics in Paris. Le Clos Verlaine seemed to fit the bill being close to the autoroute and not part of a chain. Although the entrance to the property is a little rustic, the welcome from Fabien was warm and enthusiastic. Our room was delightful: spotlessly clean with everything we needed. The bed proved really comfortable. And breakfast was a communal delight with home-made jams and yoghurt and local cheeses. Well definite try to stay here again.
We chose this property because of its proximity to the A26 as we had an early Euro Shuttle the next morning. The owner is absolutely delightful and fluent in English, Spanish & German. Our family room was very elegant and comfortable with beautiful bed linen and towels. We had the family room and this was very comfortable and spacious with 2 teenage daughters.
The owner shared some interesting facts about how his street was named after one of France’s most famous poets and we got to know more about the local town of Arras and its significance during WW2. There are no local restaurants as such but it’s only 15 mins drive to Arras and very much worth visiting. It’s a beautiful town with large squares filled with bars and restaurants and we were recommended to try ‘Le Petit Rat Porteur’, a little brasserie serving local specialities. The food was very good and very typical of the area.
Breakfast was an absolute joy, fresh bread from the bakerie including a wonderful fruity brioche loaf, fresh pastries and homemade jams, cheese and yoghurts. We would certainly like to return and my girls loved the dog, although she’s still timid!
Warm welcome, good location, the family suite was clean, beds were comfortable and we had a typical french breakfast (croissants, pain au chocolat, homemade jams, bread and brioche)
The railings up to the suite is not especially secure and need attention to properly secure them. Otherwise the reception, the bedroom and the breakfast were quite nice. I would return and even offer to provide the necessary repairs.

Merci
