My family of seven people stayed here for seven nights over the Christmas/New Year holidays. In short, we would give this lodge the best ever rating I could give.
Our family made a few major vacations every year, and we stayed in many luxurious resorts before. When we saw the pictures of the lodge on the website, we had been concerned, because it appears rusty and small. However, its price was even higher than a decent hotel in the downtown, and we did not know why. Since Northern lights viewing was our top purpose and we could not find anywhere else, we ended up here.
Our experience turned out to be awesome. First of all, this is a family owned business and every member in the family was super friendly and helpful. They stayed alert all nights to make sure all guests would not miss any aurora viewing opportunity, they were patient in answering questions, and very thoughtful in taking care of each guest's needs. After a few days of stay, we even felt we were part of this lovely and warm family. The condition of the lodge is actually much better than what it looks on the pictures. In addition, we could do a wide variety of snow activities right outside the lodge, such as cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and sledding. My three daughters loved the large lobby very much, because it is spacious, warm and have many board games for them to play. The bedrooms are small, but it would not matter because the lobby is just downstairs and fun. We feel so luck to stay here!!
