Outstanding Stay Near Fairbanks
We had a wonderful stay at Alaskan Grizzly Lodge. The rooms are clean, beautifully updated, and very comfortable. The gourmet breakfasts were a true highlight—fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared each morning.
The staff is exceptionally attentive and welcoming, making you feel genuinely cared for throughout your stay. One of the most magical perks: you can watch the Northern Lights right from the lodge’s decks.
A fantastic place to stay near Fairbanks—highly recommended for comfort, hospitality, and unforgettable views.
Everything was perfectly right, nothing less nothing over. Their hospitality is exquisite. The charming lodge is surrounded by beautiful woods the guests can take a stroll through it. Breakfast is well-prepared, healthy, and delicious! The best experience is viewing Aurora Borealis from the deck, we all had a great time. It was amazing! I can't think about anything negative. Thank you so much for all.

The husband and wife owner operators of the lodge were very professional and helpful. This included waking guest to see the northern lights should they occur and assisting with watching moose on the property. The breakfasts were excellent.
The entire experience was fantastic. We stayed for four nights and breakfast every morning was more delicious than the next. The owners were extremely nice and made sure our stay was everything we wanted it to be ( specifically making sure we saw the Northern Lights) We left early in the morning and they made sure there was something for us to eat before leaving. We will 100% stay there again and can ’t wait to go back. We had 2 young boys with us and they loved the experience as well. Thank you Grizzly Lodge!!
Fred and Janet are a delight! The offer the most amazing service of an "Aurora Wake-Up Call" -- during the night, when the northern lights are at their peak, they will knock on your door and let you know it's time to go outside.
The property is about 8 miles outside the city. Very quiet, beautiful lodge. Wonderful hot breakfast served each morning. Host couple very knowledgeable and gave us numerous ideas of places to go.
Janet and Fred were excellent hosts! They create a friendly, comfortable environment. Breakfasts were excellent and prepared freshly every morning. Having Janet wake us up to see the Northern Lights was truly a highlight of our trip to Alaska. I would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Fairbanks.
Great B&B; the host is very friendly; they are somewhat more focused on winter guests to serve them for incredible Aurora Viewing events; nonetheless the stay was comfortable; rooms a little outdated, but comfortable. Definitely would go there again. Somewhat pricey in my POV.
Totally loved the Aurora borealis viewing spot from this property.. really enjoyed the interest from owners and yummy breakfast. Definitely recommend and might visit soon. :)
Good experience overall, the only fault in my opinion was the sulphur smell in the water during showers or brushing teeth.

Nice spot for a few days stay
It is a nice place for viewing the aurora. The owner calls you at night if it appears. They serve a breakfast that is ok. The shower and faucet in our room smelled of iron pipes. We were reluctant to shower or use the sink. It’s located outside of town.
miscommunication of what room was assigned to us.
Found a strange and menacing man in our room. The woman on the phone and the owner didn't communicate with each other, and they each assigned us a different room. We were told 3 different rooms and the last one had a strange man occupying it. We felt very unsafe.

The owner was really friendly & helpful and he had 2 adorable pups. The dining/living area was massive, so there was plenty of space to spread out, play a game or watch tv, read a book, chat with others, eat. There were refreshments and packaged leftovers from breakfast every day in the fridge in case you need to leave before breakfast time, you can still have something to eat. Unfortunately the house reeked of dog urine & feces. I think the younger puppy had a few too many accidents that weren’t thoroughly cleaned. The room we got was apparently not one of the renovated rooms (as I was reading from other reviews) so it was in pretty bad shape (namely, the bathroom). The water was incredibly hard, so orange stains were everywhere and it smelled bad and it was IMPOSSIBLE to feel clean when taking a shower or washing your hands. The persistent slimy feeling was enough to make me go crazy. The stand-up shower was only big enough to, well, stand up. Bending over to wash feet or pick something up was near impossible. There were toiletries provided - soap, shampoo, conditioner. The whole bathroom - floor, walls, everything - was linoleum stapled down which was so odd & didn’t feel clean. There was a strange sticky substance on the bedroom floor we couldn’t identify. There was a tv, desk, and fan & access to a shared balcony which was a nice place to sit & have breakfast. It was really hot in the room and difficult to cool down with just the fan.Yard had vehicles & some trash/debris
