"I’m honestly surprised this Quality Inn has such a high rating, and I’m typically fairly forgiving with reviews. Unfortunately, this stay really was really disappointing, and we knew we would only be sleeping there for a handful of hours.
We got in around 1am and luckily got the last spot in the lot!
Check in was fine, although the woman at the front desk was not clear in her explanation about the whatsoever, it didn’t come across like she fully understood (we’ve travelled enough, I know what the hold is and wasn’t concerned).
Making our way to our room, the entire first floor smelled incredibly strongly of weed (not terribly surprising, but worth noting). The room was clean, it smelled very strongly of disinfectants, but you could definitely tell it hasn’t been updated in quite some time. The mattress wasn’t great, but not the end of the world. The pillows were the size of throw pillows, so just be prepared.
My husband grabbed a couple things from the vending machine and the jerky was incredibly molded. The front desk told him she’d make a note but that there was nothing she could do since it was a third party. We later saw on the vending machine that there is a refund guarantee sticker, so it would have been nice if she had mentioned that… We didn’t care that about $3 enough to act on it, but just shows an opportunity for communication to grow.
Breakfast was ok! Had all the basics.
A franchise sets an expectation for consistency in experience, and this fell short "
