The concept is so cute with the old train car and the courtyard. The room was adorable and very clean and felt very homey and safe. We really enjoyed our stay!
Very cute place obviously remodeled for hotel use. Very large room with features expected like fridge, microwave and TV. Coffee maker didn't work. Very Quiet even though you expect to hear everything in the older place. Roach at entry to stairs was a surprise but room was clean.
Probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever had in a hotel and it was a huge room! It’s a few renovations short of “quaint” and not as clean (especially stairways) as I like (hubs was ok with it)) but it is in a fantastic location downtown so you can walk to restaurants, bars, shopping, music venues, etc. It sort of has a New Orleans feel with rooms/balconies centered around a courtyard. We didn’t get one of those rooms even though the hotel was pretty empty. Ours looked into an ugly wall. Maybe because we didn’t book directly through the hotel?
Enjoyed the room. Next time I will ask for a ground floor room we had to climb 29 stairs steps to get to our room we had light bulbs out in lamps and bath room. We had coffee pods the first day but they were not replenished for the next day. I assumed we had a paid breakfast but the Railcar Restaurant told us otherwise. However it was centrally located and we felt safe in our goings and comings
The room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The bed was extremely nice and I slept like a log. There was plenty of storage space for clothes and the bathroom was big and comfortable. Would recommend staying there to anyone who asks.
Quaint place with genuine antique furniture. My suite was great with nice bathroom, bed, Keurig. I’ll be back, but i am just not fond of “contactless” check-in where i make a phone call and get instructions about where to find my key, etc. There’s no front desk to approach if i have a question or need. Breakfast is excellent, downtown is beautiful!
It’s actually a few properties on the same block so finding your room needs more coaching. Parking is in a small parking lot, or on the street, yet the location is worth it. Breakfast is excellent yet not a buffet as ads told me, and the discount at the charming rail themed restaurant onsite was very sufficient.
This is like a bed and breakfast. The rooms aren’t connected in a common building but are kind of spread out in different buildings around the square and the restaurant which has an old railroad car. The rooms are huge compared to what you’d get at a national chain. You get a $10 credit per person at the “Off the Rails” restaurant for breakfast and this is FAR better than the customary free hotel breakfast. My wife and I will definitely stay here again.
Unique. Updated historic building very attractive and comfortable. No one at the check in desk and office was locked. When I first called the number on the door, a voicemail answered saying the voice-mail was full and not to leave a message. The next time I called a person picked up and gave me the information to find the room.
Wonderful stay! It's like an Airbnb without all the add-on fees. The room was huge, very clean, and beautifully set up. There were a few books and magazines to read while lounging on the huge couch, and a writing desk by the window. Lots of closet space, large bathroom, fridge, microwave, Keurig machine. It's in the heart of downtown with plenty of food options. It says "free breakfast," but in fact they give $10 vouchers (up to two per room) to eat at the attached restaurant, which is actually better, because you can have a big breakfast at a discount or eat light for free. (The restaurant is great, by the way, with an expansive menu.) There is a locked door for the staircase and a different key for the room, so everything was very secure. Plus it's a nice neighbourhood. The room was quiet. We'd definitely stay there again.
What a unique and charming hotel. It was easy to get key and drop them off for our rooms. Staff was quick to respond and were great. The rooms are just great. We will stay there anytime we are in El Dorado.
