"If you have a car, and have the good fortune to be traveling in the Douro Valley, this place is not to be missed. It is a bit hard to get to, but well worth the effort. Fantastic setting, beautiful rooms and amenities, and 5-star service. This is a family-run guesthouse, and Maria knows the area, the history, the products, and the hospitality business. Just a gem. I regret that I didn’t build in a day just to relax, visit one or 2 of the nearby (5 minute drive) wineries, and relax by the pool...

"This visit was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Portugal. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such kindness from our host Miguel. Located in the Douro valley surrounded by beautiful terrace vineyards, this property is truly unique. There is great attention to detail throughout the experience.
