"The house and facilities are fantastic, in fact it felt so homely and welcoming we did not want to come home. The owners are lovely people very friendly and helpful The area is great for getting to many close by areas and dog walks. Love the art around the gardens, fenced in garden great for our pooches. There are no staff at the property and the phone number on their website is incorrect. Room had no bin, no mirror or tea & coffee facilities. This is a basic. "Second time we have stayed at Bayswell Park while attending Scottish Open golf. Very helpful staff and good rooms which we think have been recently refurbished. Our room on first floor had magnificent views of the Forth. Our evening meal was excellent"

"The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff were extremely helpful. Dining in all three restaurants was superb. We would definitely go back. The Falconry experience was amazing. Just be aware it is not run by the hotel but it is on or adjacent to the grounds. A two minute walk from the lobby."

"Great place to stay and would again. Old castle, so you have the historical vibes of the place. Had restraunt on site, only hade breakfast here and was good. Have onsite-bar and outside seating to enjoy the grounds. On outskirts of city, so very quiet, vast grounds to walk. Had a lift for luggage movement. Staff was great, location quiet. Had the two-bedroom suite and like it very much. (only issue were the carpets had some burn marks). But room was large and had a little room for coffee and tea. on-site open parking. Great place and recommend."

"As a first time in Edinburgh at 28 years , I do recommend ! Very friendly guests , they do their best in making it as comfortable as possible . It’s best to leave a message on your arrival date. The location is adequate very close to the bus station and a 15-20 minute walk to the amazing Portobello beach that is filled with amazing coffee shops and restaurants. The stores are nearby and has access to an ATM . Coffee is free and amenities are given all you need to do is ask . I would surely stay here again ! Thanks for hosting me here ."

"Room was kept clean, as was the rest of the building. Access to the restaurant and bar was great. The hotel itself was also nearby lots of other places that was nice for our stay, such as other restaurants, the bus stop, grocery store and the beach. It was a nice place to stay away from the busyness of Edinburgh, but still access the city through a 20-30 minute but ride. Only negative was the mattress wasn't in amazing condition"

"Everything was clean. I loved my room. It’s not the most updated place in the world, but it had its own charm. It’s warm and inviting. The staff was great, and had good suggestions for tours. It’s kind of a pain not having anything nearby. No convenience stores or coffee shops. You have to take a train or Uber. I tried the connected restaurant twice and did not care for it. It’ll do though with nothing else around. Overall, it was a good value and I felt safe and comfortable"
