"Owner was exceptional in friendliness"

"The posting was incredibly dishonest. This is a basement. No view, tiny windows above eye level, noise from above late into the night, and stairwell that enters in the middle of the room which leads to the owner's house, I assume into the kitchen given the noise and the constant turning on and off of lights which kept us awake. The pictures show a front porch and the main house, no clear indication you'll be in the basement. If this were posted honestly as a basement unit at a fair price for...

"Great stay a short walk from the centre of Moffat. Caroline and Miles are super helpful and nice (Miles kept parking spaces free for us so we could park our motorcycles right outside the front of the hotel.) Plenty of parking on this quiet street. There are just 3 rooms here. They are a good size, warm and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is great quality with lots of choice. Couldn’t fault the quality and service and will definitely return."

"This is a lovely place to stay. The Cornmill is right down by the shore of the Cree estuary and Garlieston is a fabulous old village with the Harbour Inn providing good food (advisable to book, though, as our landlady kindly told us). Lovely walks, bike rides and places of historical interest in the vicinity. Katy at the Cornmill was kindness itself - her breakfasts are fantastic and if there's anything else you need, you only needed to ask. Hoping to go back, not least to take advantage of her...

"We were greeted with drinks and cake when we arrived the room was spacious and set up ready for our dog when we arrived both mark and Dawn clearly love dogs so if your thinking of bringing your pooch this is the place to bring them ."

"Enjoyable two night stay. Good cooked breakfast with free range eggs. Our room had great views over Loch Ken and the surrounding countryside. Enjoyable to sit in the conservatory watching the little birds at the feeders. Excellent location for the Galloway red kite trail including the Bellymack Farm feeding station which is well worth a visit. Comfortable, clean accommodation and greeted with a welcome cup of tea on arrival."

"Our room was large and extremely comfortable with the bonus of a sofa to sit on and a view out over the river. We were lucky enough to get a brief sunset over the river on the first night. Everywhere was furnished to a high standard and was spotlessly clean. We were made very welcome and the hostess was keen to ensure we had enough information about the local area to make sure we fully enjoyed our stay, found places to eat in the evening, etc. It's a short drive into the centre of Kirkcudbright,...
