The front desk did not have our reservation and we waited outside a locked gate in a rainstorm for about 10 min. The reception was not warm. We felt like an inconvenience. Even though they have a restaurant it was closed until breakfast. They offered to drive us to town (far away) for dinner. They did not have enough seats in the vehicle for our group so we stayed in and skipped dinner.
I think for young locals it’s a great place for family with thermal pools, lake, river and nature. For older people without a car it’s too far to be practical.
It’s a beautiful location and the grounds are well maintained. Hopefully they will reopen their restaurant soon.
The hot springs pool was absolutely wonderful! And we even had it all to ourselves during our stay. Plus, the temperature was nice and comfortable. There was also a beautiful, peaceful, little pool next to the creek that we enjoyed. The property was really lovely and immense. We took a very long hike up for a good view. They did not have the restaurant open for dinner when we were there. So, the staff offered to drive us to and from a restaurant that had a nice atmosphere and good food. And you can hear the rushing creek/river from just about everywhere on the property!
The pool is excellent the beachfront is nice and the rooms are decent especially the shower. Our room was not cleaned once during a 3-day stay and the breakfast while free is of poor quality. We made several requests of the staff and they were able to fulfill some of those.
The hotel is great. Big, surrounded by nature, trees, a river, 2 excellent swimming pools and the staff is very friendly. Our room was simply perfect.
The restaurant is a joke, a bad joke. They got almost nothing to serve. They dont even show you the menu because 70% of the menu is out. So you will eat what they got, not what you want. Quality of the food not good and terribly expensive.

★★★★☆ A beautiful and relaxing stay with a few disappointments
We really enjoyed our stay at Rancho Río Perlas. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and full of charm. The gardens were lovely and well maintained, especially considering the rainy season. The pools were a highlight — particularly the hot pool, which was clean, relaxing, and enjoyable. Our room was excellent: spacious, comfortable, and a lovely place to stay.
There were a few areas where our expectations did not match the experience. From the website, we expected a restaurant, pool bars, and more extensive spa facilities. Although these areas exist and look attractive, the restaurant and bars were not operating during our stay, meaning we had to leave the property for lunch, dinner, drinks, and snacks. The spa appeared to be limited mainly to massages booked in advance.
The WiFi worked well around the grounds but was unreliable inside our room.
Breakfast was somewhat disappointing for a place presented as a spa and wellness destination. The Gallo Pinto was very good, but options such as store-bought muffins and bottled juice did not reflect the healthy image promoted online. The breakfast service could also have felt warmer and more welcoming.
Overall, Rancho Río Perlas is a beautiful property with great potential. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend it, but clearer communication about available services and some improvements to the food and hospitality would make it an exceptional experience.
The room smelled of mold and mildew. I thought that if I had the ceiling fan to circulate the air it would be better, the ceiling fan was broken. Maintenance brought a fan and it made the smell worse. By the time I realized that it was unbearable it was 11 pm. I really do not recommend this property
Is a beautiful place indeed the nature is breath taking, but few misses like the internet signal didn't reach oor room and the place is in a remote area so no internet also. Plus the 50 dollars per day for a dog a bit expensive. The rest amazing, friendly staff great views great food o recommend it
A nice, quiet location convenient to some interesting places to visit. We were here only briefly to attend a nearby event. But we'd go back when we have more time.
Quel lieu !
