We arrived and Marco met us and helped us with our bags. We had two adjoining clean rooms .But they were not as lovely as the picture. I had booked this place because it said fireplaces in each room. So when you say fireplaces, I expect them to work. Wrong! Marco said, oh they are old. Well that should have been stated. The maid that was Greek was very lovely. The night before we left we asked Marco to help us with our bags in the morning, as we were on the 2nd floor. He said he wanted to leave early, so we should get our bags ready that night and he would put them in the cafe that he assured us would be open. We said no, as we never noticed it open and certainly did not want to chance to miss our flight because we could not get our bags. He said he would be up to help us then the next morning at 8 am but he never showed up.
Wonderful apartment hotel in the heart of the city
Wonderful apartment style hotel in the heart of the city. Fantastic and generous host. Large, spacious, comfortable, and clean room with an updated rain fall style shower head.
The check in experience was difficult. This isn't a hotel with a check in desk.We were told to just call, but our phone wasn't working. However, we were able to store our bags at the tourist office just down the road until later when we could get checked in during restaurant hours (12:00-20:00).
We had a great stay and would highly recommend this hotel to others.
Excellent location if you want to walk to pubs or take a bus. It's literally on the Liffy, in the middle of all the sights in Dublin. The hostess, Anita was nice enough to move us from the third (4th in the U.S.) to the first (second in the U.S.) floor when my wife felt it was too far up with her new knee. The room had a small problem with the sink, but we made it work. Unfortunately, there is a bus stop near the front of the building, so much of the night there was noise from the street. (which we porbably would not have heard from the third floor) But the rooms were a delight, period decorations, great shower once we learned how to tweak the temperature the right way, and again, the perfect location.
Amazing little guest house right in the centre of Dublin. The room was beautiful and spotless. The Service from the owner was particularly impeccable. They also own the bar downstairs which if it hadn’t been for our jet lag we would have enjoyed. Will definitely be staying her again.
Despite the listed info that the "office" was open from morning to night, no one was there when we arrived. We rang the bell over and over, and sat on the stoop for an hour before someone finally answered. At least it wasn't raining. The phone number on the small hotel sign did not work. The room was lovely and spacious, the bed comfortable. The shower head did not sit upright, the room was cleaned and towels replaced once in three days, and no replacement of soap, tea, water at all. No visible management was present at all except when we phoned (having discovered the correct number). Wifi very intermittent or non-functional throughout our stay. Tremendously noisy owing to no double pane windows.
Our room was very nice (exactly as pictured) and in a great location, overlooking the river and close to O'Connell St, some good pubs with traditional music, and Temple Bar just across the river. The only downside was that we arrived early (late morning) and had trouble finding anyone to ask about an early check-in or storing our luggage. There is not an office for this rental; the owners manage a deli next door (which was not open when we arrived). Some other local folks helped us make contact with the owners and everything went smoothly after that point. Overall we were quite pleased with our choice and I would stay with them again.
