"This is a throwback to the days of motels that you drive your car up to your room. It has been nicely updated and was a welcome option to having to roll luggage into a multi-storied modern hotel. The staff was reasonably welcoming and informative. "

"The only thing I think that would be beneficial is if they opened breakfast at 6:30, instead of 7:00. For those of us that have to leave at 7 we never got the chance to eat it!!!"

"We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The check in was very easy and were welcomed by the attendant (I believe he is the owner and/or manager) and felt at home. The room was on the smaller side, but the whole property has been renovated and it was a terriffic stay. Highly recommended place to stay, for a town that you visit to get out and explore all that Paso Robles has to offer."

No coffee maker in the room but breakfast opens at 7.They even have fire pits on until at least 10 in the center island as well as private tables near the rooms. "Didn't use the air conditioner. The room was large and clean. The supplies were very basic. Coffee did not taste good. It was a relaxing stay. Staff was very helpful and friendly. "

"Our first room had serious hygiene issues, including insects and visible mold in the shower. My wife had to go to our friend’s room to take a shower in order to make it on time to our reservation. After reporting this to the front desk we were moved to the second room; however, this room has extremely poor water pressure, making the shower unusable. We returned to our room late at night and tried to take a shower and found out that water pressure was too low. It was too late to move to a...

"Its a lovely cozy place smack dab in the middle of town. The free breakfast is light and delicious and the "on the house" wine us top notch. Its the only place we will stay from now on."

"Hotel Cheval is a wonderful hotel that is beautiful, intimate and relaxing. Each room has access to the courtyard that has two large fireplaces, cozy sitting areas, a classic library space with a candy bar. The free breakfast is fabulous. The hotel is right in town so close to the center square and all the restaurants. The Pony Bar, which is part of the hotel has a great atmosphere and music at night. The hotel is pricey but but well worth it. "

"Beautiful property, nice and quiet. Rooms were very pretty too. The one thing we didn't like was the lighting in the bathroom was Not Good for putting on makeup and for my husband to shave. The bathroom lighting was way too dim over the sink."
