"It was a very pleasant stay, the room was a bit outdated, walls were thin but it had a very nice pool (very clean and big) with a nice garden with different trees and grass. The hotel also had parking and the staff was helpful and attentive. Hotel is a bit far from the centre but walkable."

"The view is incredible. The swimming pool is situated overlooking the river and the view is breathtaking. We both had a massage and it was very good. Breakfast was plentiful. We had dinner at the restaurant one evening and the service was quick and the food delicious."

"Beautiful hotel and location. When arriving, you feel like you are at a 5 or 6 star hotel. Very friendly staff, nice rituals. Only thing that needs fixing is the driveway going into hotel is a very narrow two way - they need a better system! The room was very nicely appointed. We had a roof suite with a jacuzzi. We paid extra to have the jacuzzi, but it is barely usable. For some reason, the water height is very low coming just above the jets, which don’t work very well. You have to sit on the bottom of the Jacuzzi to actually be immersed. It’s also difficult to get into with one big step and I actually fell getting in once. VERY disappointing. The first evening we had reservations at the summer bbq for 8:30. We arrived exactly on time, but our table wasn’t ready. They asked us to go get a drink and they would come get us. It took 10 minutes to even be given a menu for a drink, and it took another 30 minutes for us to get our table. Again, very disappointing. Our second day we went to the pool for lunch. The grounds are stunning in the pool was absolutely beautiful. They’re very nice patio for relaxing near the pool. We ordered lunch and unfortunately, there a long black hair in my burger. Overall, the food was very good. At the main restaurant, they have a pastel de nata dessert that is out of this world. For such an expensive, exclusive and highly regarded hotel we were disappointed. Some of the staff needs better training, especially the morning breakfast waitstaff."

"This is a stunning property set in the hills of the Douro. Incredible views and very peaceful.Friendly staff and a very nice cold breakfast included. There were scrambled eggs available. Part of the charm is that you are off the beaten track but if you are not going for dinner in the village then bring your own snacks."

"Relaxing place to stay whilst visiting the Douro region. welcoming and helpful host. It is a c 10min walk from the station which is straightforward if fairly fit, otherwise a short taxi ride..great views over the valley and river from the rooms and pool area. Enjoyed our stay, would recommend"

"Great wine tour, great food in the main restaurant, the Terrace Pizza place and the breakfast. Lovely pool overlooking the river. Great staff, very very helpful when we couldn't get a taxi (only problem in Pinhao). Stayed one night, only regret is not staying for 2 nights."
