Great service
Was as stated and the host was super accomodating and thinking of the little things like my sweetners in the morning. she made everyone welcome these things are what makes a hotel stand out. Only negative was slightly uncomfortable bed.

Basic seafront hotel still working
Hotel was accommodating for late ferry arrival. Was fair enough for 3* Tesco vouchers used Good Towels and shower, adequate breakfast, no bar, no tea/coffee in the room, poor TV. Good to see it in operation where many close by have shut Trip was for Manx

Nice enough hotel but communication appalling. I contacted the hotel after booking to ask them whether or not it was possible to adapt the breakfast (which is included in the price) to suit a vegan diet. No one ever responded and when I signed it at reception this had somehow been transcribed as 'gluten free'. I also messaged regarding the fact that we wouldn't arrive on the island til 22.00 due to the ferry times and enquired how I could get my room key. No response. Then ferry told me they would be 1hr late - so I would arrive after reception closed. I tried to contact them in advance on the day so they would be aware and gained assurance someone would be there to let us in. Unfortunately, when we turned up there was no one answering the door. There was a code I could have used, had anyone given it to me. There was no key for me, even though the other guest who was left waiting on the doorstep with me had a key ready in an envelope. The man who answered the door made it clear that I was at fault for arriving so late. I accept that I arrived 15 minutes after check in closed. However, I did advise them as far in advance as possible and was told that this would be ok. No apology was made (I did apologise for our lateness, which was outside my control) and I feel that the stress caused to myself, my son and to the adults on site on that evening could have potentially been avoided with better communication between the hotel and their booked customers.

The hotel was perfectly fine for what I expected. It is a bit basic but I didn't expect anything else. A big thank you has to go to the lovely lady who was looking after us at breakfast. She was so incredibly friendly and provided great service.

once entered property the gentleman at reception told us casually that lift is not working and room just on second floor.Stairs were steep. Rooms very small, no hot water in the morning. Breakfast had no choice, either full breakfast or just toastwith eggs. cereal was offered as well. cold roooms but after asking had heater given to us. Pool table present but not working. Reception not maned but someone came after pressing bell for long time

Lift wasn't working .We are both over 70 and had rooms on 4th floor. Bar didn't open and drinking own alcohol on premises prohibited. Booking for one couple in our party was lost so they had anxious wait to get room which didn't have a sea view. No hot water at 6.am. Lack of bar had major impact or on our social plans. Poor service in some areas.
I did not know the hotel was very limited to check-in times to 4pm only! This meant I was unable to leave my luggage until the room was ready. There is only WiFi accessible in the lobby area not where else in the hotel. The breakfast was fine. I was incorrectly charged twice when I arrived which I had to contact. The staff took my credit card and charged me for the stay, Hotels.com had also charged by card. I did not become aware of this until I got home, I am still awaiting for this to be refunded. Hotels.com blamed the staff at the hotel.

The external flowers were a nice touch … the rest of the guest house (it’s NOT a hotel) was a disgrace … by far the worst place I’ve stayed in in 60 years. The lift apparently hasn’t worked for years, the room was pokey, cracked wallpaper, a loose WC that moved when sat on, spiders’ webs were in the bedroom, hard bed … just an absolute nightmare. I asked for another room on day 2 (I was room 3) to be advised they had none … they did. Have Expedia ever vetted the Trevelyan? I paid £805 for my stay and I’m not happy … I’d like you to revisit what you charged or I’ll not be using you again.

Great location
We stayed 3 nights at this lovely family run hotel. The beds were all super comfy , the breakfast perfect size avoiding any waste and also very tasty, they even reserved a table for the 3 of us each morning which was amazing. A few bits to improve to have someone always checking for arriving guests . We were lucky as we were served nearly as soon as we arrived but I checked some guests in the following days that waited over 1 hr to be checkin in. This is definitely something that needs to be improved, also taxi services are scarce so for someone with not a local phone having to make calls to several taxi supplier on their own phone can be expensive . My feedback is the the hotel needs to fixed the recepción phone or offset to call taxi for customers . Apart from that all great this is why I give 4 start instead or 5

The staff were great. They served a good breakfast. Also we were able to leave luggage and collect for our late flight. Do pay the very little extra for in-room bathroom. Well worth it. Very walkable to town centre. Great for a couple of nights. .

Overall a good stay. Booked a basic room for 2 nights and then offered upgrade but due to misunderstanding a different price quoted so refused. No kettle in room 1st night . Kettle in room 2nd night but no tea or coffee but luckily had taken own supplies. Staff very friendly and location on promenade good. Compared to nearby properties good value.

Douglas Done it Again
Great little hotel right on Douglas front, choose your rooms carefully. Ours were ideal for our needs, but may not suit some. Nice breakfast, well cooked, friendly, homely feel from owners and staff.

Good budget choice in Douglas
A good budget choice in Douglas. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel is right on the seafront and close to bus stops and the heritage electric railway. Breakfast was good. Wifi is quite flakey and can be hard to get a reliable connection. But would be happy to stay here again.

Cheap stay and good value for money. A bit small and a bit awkward for toilet cubicle. But since very okd building this is to be expected. Good breakfast and flexible with stay if you have a later flight. On sea front major works on promenade but should be finished next year.

Comfortable hotel
I did not expect much about 3-star hotel with the price lower than £40 a night. However, this hotel was beyond my expectation. I have got an en-suite room with sea-view which was really very impressive. The room had enough facility as mentioned on the website. Breakfast was okay but it would be better if there were other options for guests (having full English breakfast for 3 days could be boring). I would not want to complain for the location because it cannot be changed. Some backpackers might feel this hotel is quite far from city centre and there are not many shops and restaurants around but if you value your money more than energy (to walk there), I would recommend this hotel.
