Quality accommodation and lovely owners

We stayed one night here as a central hiking place for Snowdonia and we extremely impressed with the place and with Jan's local knowledge. The room was clean and accommodating, the bathroom was clean and had good water pressure. Breakfast was great but what was better was all the advice about what walking trails to use and where to spend time on the rest of our trip in Wales. Jan pointed us to Cader Idris peak rather than Snowdon and it was an excellent decision. We cannot thank you enough for everything during our stay!

Our hosts were very helpful and the service was good, as was the breakfast. Unfortunately, the twin room was very cramped, the bed/mattresses were old and tired and the shower had black mold around the bath.

A very enjoable stay
Great traditional place to stay-the owners were fantastic who clearly enjoy the company of the people that stay.Would highly recommend. My only gripe would be for a superior room the tv was very small and actually very awkward to use.

Plastic Gwyn has beautiful character
Fantastic location within DOLGELLAU just a walk away from all the amenities, restauaunts, shops, pubs etc. Lovely hosts who make their own jams and natural yogurt DELICIOUS! They make a great breakfast. Very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you both x

Wonderful stay in this perfect B&B. Jan and Julia were exceptional hosts, service was top quality and we really appreciated the tips for sites to see in the local area. Location was excellent, plenty of restaurants nearby and great sightseeing. Such a beautiful part of the world.

Fantastic B&B with so much character and great hosts. We were given free Welsh cakes and fudge in the room, these tasted amazing. Excellent advice on the town and local area. Brilliant breakfast in the morning. Only downside was banging my head several times on the top floor door frames (I was warned but kept forgetting!!)

Perfection!
Jan and his wife, the couple who own this B&B, absolutely went above and made our stay so wonderful. Our room was so cozy, our fridge was refreshed, and room was cleaned each day. The breakfast was spot on! The people are genuinely the kindest I've met. Dolgellau won my husband's and my heart, and we will absolutely be back.

Fantastic but bed terrible
We stayed here to do cadair idris walk which is a 15 minute drive away. Great location and in a lovely village which has restaurants and great coffee shop. Host was brilliant very friendly and great breakfast. Home made jams and included. The only down side was the bed, it was TERRIBLE. we were up all night due to every move we made made a huge noise. So uncomfortable as well as the pillows. Never stayed in a bed like it.

A great B+B for visitors to Snowdonia.
We only stayed the one night at this great little B + B in Dolgellau, but it has certainly impressed us sufficiently to want to return. A charming property and superb service from Julie and Jan combined to make the stay memorable. The personal little touches and the excellent breakfast were most welcome. Highly recommend this place if you're travelling in that region of Wales.

Plas Gwyn- A must stay!
I stayed a night in 2016 and then back again in 2017 for a night. Jan and Julie (thank you) are absolutely wonderful people and have a lovely B&B...Attention to detail, from the rooms to the lovely breakfast is very evident here... I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!

We used this location only to accommodate ourselves with the driving time to south Wales . We did not explore this area. Jan and his wife made an extremely nice impression on both of us . They are really working hard to make their guest happy. Outstanding breakfast with a lot of personal attention.

Amazing Listed Guest House in rural Wales:)
Owners were very friendly & helpful. Also in an amazing Grade 2* listed building with original wooden staircase dating back 16th/17th century. The owners have kept the original style & the breakfast room was one of the best rooms with a view, I have sat in & been in hundreds of GH/Hotels last few years on business.Highly recommend anyone to stay.

If in Dolgellau in North Wales, stay here
We stayed for two nights. It was a totally delightful experience - well-appointed and comfortable room, excellent breakfast, and very welcoming, helpful and accommodating hosts. Should we return to this area, we shall definitely stay here.

Perfect base for this beautiful area
We booked here to rest after a long cycle ride and we chosen better! The house is situated within 100 metres of the charming town centre but in a quiet location with plenty of on-site parking and secure bike storage. We were well looked after by our hosts and we can highly recommend this small hotel as an ideal base for this outstanding area.

This wonderfully sympathetically restored house is run by a friendly helpful couple. Superb breakfast. Ideally situated within easy walking distance of the town centre. It is also surrounded by beautiful countryside ideal for walking and cycling.

What a gem! We did a 5 day B&B "Tour de Wales" and this was our favorite spot. A classic building with updated amenities (ie. the kind of show you'd find in a fancy hotel).

A charming jump back in time.
We stayed only one night regrettably, for the whole town was an ancient village that was just adorable and would have been a pleasure to stroll through and look at the shops. They have gone to a lot of trouble to keep things as they were originally. They have labeled the rooms by whom they belonged to in the original household. Very unique and charming and our hosts were just a pleasure to visit with. They have all kinds of information and literature on the area. Really makes you feel like you've gone back in time. Breakfast was excellent and the dining room charming. Would have loved to have stayed longer.

Stayed for one night to explore Wales a little bit. Hosts were superb on arrival, bedroom was spotless. Shower and bedding absolutely superb. Breakfast was also very good - homemade yoghurt and jams and local honey as well as a full English. Highly recommended.

I have stayed here on many occasions, the new owners are very attentive and helpful. The rooms are great with comfy clean beds. the breakfast table is a delight the way it's set and the food is always cooked to order. It has 4 stars for a reason trust me I travel round and have stayed in some poor hotels. The best comment I can give is I will return soon.

From the moment we arrived to when we departed we were made to feel welcome. Little things like home made welsh cakes and truffles and an electric blanket on the bed added to a very pleasant stay. We had a hearty breakfast and were given some suggestions for points of interest before setting off.

Lovely clean room and excellent service.
Stayed in the large double room. Very well appointed with fridge and proper milk for tea and coffee. Welsh cakes and truffles as nice treat in room with the tea and coffee. Gave me a 20% discount voucher for dinner at a local pub. I was leaving very early, so they left cereals and juice for me and even provided a packed lunch in place of the full breakfast. Would definitely recommend

A fabulous gem in Dolgellau
A really lovely guest house / B'n'B / hotel, run by 2 lovely people. This is a fantastic, traditional old house that has been lovingly transformed into a stylish and comfortable guest house, without losing any of its inherent charm. The owners could not be more hospitably, and go out of their way to help you. The breakfast is lovely, including some home-made gems. All-in-all, very good, and I have no hesitation in recommending it to other guests.
