"We had a wonderful experience at the Hyatt Place and will definitely return the next time we are in the Norfolk area. For a family of four, it was absolutely perfect. The entire property was wonderful and very clean, smelling fresh from the moment we walked in. Our room on the fifth floor was incredibly quiet, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless.
We also really appreciated the hotel's focus on safety. The parking lot was spacious, safe, and well-lit, and the elevator requires you to scan your room key before going up, which is a great feature for keeping unregistered guests out. The lobby was impressive as well, featuring clean restrooms and a spacious seating area with plenty of couches, tables, and chairs.
Breakfast was delicious, and the eating area was kept impeccably clean. Throughout our stay, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and having plenty of luggage carts available made moving our family's bags incredibly easy. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back."
"I have stayed at Your Space twice and I love it! I just wish they had a swimming pool, indoor or outdoor. The property has everything a family would need for a trip, it just needs a swimming pool. Other than that, Your Space Hotel is great!"
SpringHill Suites Marriott Norfolk Old Dominion University
8/10 Good
"Here’s a polished, balanced review that highlights both the positives and the minor issues:
We stayed one night at SpringHill Suites Norfolk ODU while visiting Old Dominion University, and overall, it was a good experience.
There were a couple of minor maintenance issues. Our first room had a broken door lock, so the door was wide open when we arrived. We reported it to the front desk, and they promptly reassigned us to another room. In the second room, the toilet flush handle was loose, so you had to hold it and push it slowly for it to flush properly.
Aside from those issues, the room was clean, comfortable, and met our needs for a short stay. The location was excellent—just minutes from ODU, which was the reason for our visit. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, plus an on-site restaurant, making meals convenient. Self-parking was easy and located directly across the street for $13 per day.
Overall, despite the minor maintenance concerns, we had a pleasant stay. The staff responded appropriately, the location was great, and I would definitely stay here again."
