Best Christmas Getaway
It was a wonderful Christmas getaway for the two of us and our two small dogs. This was our first visit but won’t be our last. We did learn that we over packed but I guess that’s normal. Very comfortable, bed was super cozy, just had to get used to the stairs. Loved walking on the beach with the dogs. ❤️

Fun to stay in "tiny house" for a few days. Pet friendly, close to beach. Note for cleaning staff the vent over stove needs to be cleaned. Otherwise, immaculate! Thanks. We will recommend to friends.

Wonderful stay! I can’t wait to return!
The cottages are adorable! I stayed in the Cypress Model, the smallest one. And it was perfect for me and my two small dogs. I loved the modern farmhouse shiplap decor. The bed was very comfortable.

The cottages are tiny, but have everything you could possibly need. I never felt cramped or confined. It was perfect. The kitchen was very well appointed, with a teal retro refrigerator, microwave and a two burner stove. No oven. All the touches were nice and very well done. I wish I could have stayed longer. My only complaint was the stairs up and down to the lift were awkward and the ceiling in the loft was so low, you have to crawl to get to the bed. But all in all, it didn’t bother me that much. I would absolutely stay here again. It’s right by the beach and there is an adorable general store just a few steps away.

Dillon Beach is the best for dogs and it is amazing to not have to go home but get up and enjoy it again. Tiny houses are super cute but you do need to be fit enough to climb the stairs. It is quite a bit pricey too…definitely a splurge for us.

Better for small people
The cabin was clean and neat, but smaller than we expected. There was only 1 pan for cooking. The climb up to the bed area was difficult. We ended up leaving a day early, because it was too uncomfortable to sleep there, lots of noise and those stairs were difficult.

Hi Cindy, Thank you for you review. These are tiny homes and we always try to be give all the details in our descriptions. However, had we known you had difficulties we would have been more than happy to move you to a one story or larger unit, if available. Due to being a tiny home we do have 1 frying pan, 1 sauce pan and 1 soup pot in each unit due to space constrictions and you only have a 2 burner stove. Keep in mind, that whenever you stay here, you are more than welcome to ask for whatever you need and we're more than happy to assist. We wish you all the best.

A very cute place very close to a beautiful beach! The general store had a lot to offer. The cafe unfortunately was only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday so we didn't get to try it.

Great getaway!
The not so good was that the stairs in our bungalow were very steep. Otherwise it was very clean, close to the beach. We will come again!

Dillon Beach Resort was the perfect quick weekend getaway. Their general store is incredibly well appointed, the restaurant on site is excellent, and the views are top notch. We very much enjoyed our stay!

Prime location
The cabins and cottages are about a 2 minute walk to Dillon beach, which is nice. The bedroom in our cottage was upstairs, but you cannot stand up, the ceiling is maybe 4 feet at the peak. Wish I had known that when I booked the cottage.

Nice stay close to the beach!
We had an awesome stay. Cypress cottage was very clean and updated. The mattress was comfortable. Parking was right across from our cottage. I loved having the free parking pass a the beach. I just wished it opened earlier, but the walk down is quick, too. I’m also glad they had WiFi, because my phone has no service.

Loved the tiny house! Clean, cute, and cozy. Great bathroom and kitchen. Living room big enough for three to comfortably watch a movie. Good tv access. Loft has very low ceiling—you can’t stand up. But that didn’t bother us. Lovely beach one block away. Needed tissues and more hooks in bathroom, but kitchen was stocked. Very cute general store. Nicer than a hotel.

we liked being essentially on the beach. well maintained properties. the management was also wonderful and even gave us a bottle of wine when they discovered it was our anniversary. the resort is also close to lots of other areas along the coast worth visiting.

Nice tiny house experience. The Coastal Kitchen Restaurant was excellent. There were several rules for staying there and the manner they were communicated was slightly arrogant. But, we enjoyed the stay!

Great get away
Very well run facility. Cabin was small but efficient. My cabin did not have a view so i think i would upgrade on my next visit. We brought food and drink in (and paper napkins) and had a great time.

Save your money! Buyer beware.
Excellent location, everything else left much to be desired. Starting with the fact they didn't give us the room we booked. We got the bait & switch for a MUCH smaller room type. Then the property blamed it on Hotels.com for "listing it wrong" while H.com says the property is responsible for listing available inventory & making sure things are correct. Either way we got screwed. The fact that the "director" didn't even bother to offer us dinner or offer anything for a future stay and instead sent me some lame message after I clicked the red face about my check-in experience, telling me I needed to contact Hotels.com to change it to green because the check-in wasnt the problem! W.T.F. If my 6 year old hadn't been with me I would have left & gotten my money back right then & there. I booked a room big enough so we could work & school from home. Instead we ended up in a trailer no bigger than my sons bathroom, had to take a day off of work/school, then wake up at the crack of dawn the next day to drive home early so we could be ready for work/school. Staycation stunted. Re: "cleanliness" the fridge smelled wretched. All the food we put in there was ruined by the odor of dead fish. ALL frozen food we brought we had to toss since the room we got didn't have a freezer like the one we booked. The tops of 3 of the light switch plates had heavy dust on them. So how well were the switches cleaned? Ew. And the flys!!!! There we SO many in the room, no swatter provided. Disgusting.

The Cottage you stated that you booked hadn't been available for months, nor could you present us with your reservation confirmation. You were in the unit that you paid for. Your Son, who is delightful, seemed very happy with the accommodations and told me so the second day you were there. Last, you left the cottage, you stayed in, in such disrepair, with food and garbage everywhere, no wonder there were flys and by the way, there were 2 fly swatters, behind the garbage can, under the sink. We attempted to charge you for the hellacious mess that you left but the credit card was declined. Staff is great. They’re friendly and welcoming. Unit is clean, comfortable and perfect. View from my window was of almost the whole beach. Loved the dog friendly beach. They have a general store where you can purchase anything from clothing, surfboards, food and even alcohol. There’s a California touch so I was able to get organic ice cream in my favorite flavor. Will definitely return.

Laid back beach cottage
Keep in mind that these are not normal times and DBR is cleary just getting up and running again. Stayed in Sweetwater tiny house for the weekend. Great view, really well made with nice fixtures, tons of charm. Management was very scarce, contactless check in, very laid back, almost to the point of feeling ignored! Biggest issue was the communal trash was overflowing, but it was picked up the last day of stay. Kitchenette well set up, web site does not mention the microwave (there IS one), but oddly for the wine region no wine glasses included. The grounds are not quaint, the tiny house is set on an old paved area, but if you look past it you get the awesome view of the beach and Point Reyes. General store has all you need. Highly recommend Nicks Cove for food, take out but some safe outside dining. Absolutely ideal place for a laid back beach escape for those with dogs. Place has potential to be one of the truly great old school beach resorts in Norcal if they work on the grounds and add a few more touches to the accommodations.

I'm so sorry the management was scarce and you felt ignored. During Covid times we are trying our best to stay out of the way from our guests, but certainly want to be present for your needs. In regards to the trash bins overflowing, the trash company actually forgot the cottages and beach areas. The owner was right on it this morning, but that's no excuse for this happening. We so appreciate your comments and will be sure to be more attentive to these issues, including wine glasses. Perfect respite
The tiny cottages with the picture window view of the beach made our shelter in place comfortable and calming. Our favorite beach was a couple hundred yards away and provisions were easy to acquire either on site or in nearby Tomales.
