Amazing stay at an amazing hotel
We had the most peaceful and relaxing stay at Craig Appin. The hotel is situation is a stunning spot, and the rooms are beautiful. We had a freshly prepared meal served in the dining room in the evening which was delicious, just like the breakfast and tea we had in the beautiful garden. The service was second to none and when we’re back in Sri Lanka we will definitely be going back to Craig Appin!

Amazing bangalow to stay in Hatton region
Great place to stay to visit the tea plantations in Hatton area. Comfy, clean and super friendly wait staff that are very accommodating. I request for Sri Lankan breakfast in the morning last minute and they prepared & served me fresh Sri Lankan breakfast in 40 mins while I went for a walk. Make sure to ask for a voucher for tea factory if you plan on visiting one. Apparently, Individual visits to tea factory are only permitted with a hotel voucher.

Our stay at the Mandira Craig Appin Bungalow was wonderful. However, we’re not happy with the way you priced it. It turns out that we paid for more than what we got. We got the smallest room of the five rooms they have but we paid the same rate (USD 337, incl. taxes per day) as the one of the large rooms with two beds in it. We asked for two beds, so the staff put in an extra bed in that small room which made it congested. Also, we found out that we were overpriced excessively for the breakfast because we included it in the reservation and thus paid for it in advance. If we had chosen to pay for the room only upon booking and then paid for the breakfast separately we would have paid only LKR 1800 per person (=USD 12) instead of USD 52 per person which we paid in advance. That’s a VERY expensive breakfast! It’s not fair or transparent when you don’t advise exactly what we get when we pay in advance, and how do you justify that the price of the meals are so much higher when the guest pays for it in advance upon booking? We would appreciate your response to the above. Regards, Lars and Henrik
