"These kinds of hotels can be a bit cookie cutter, so when one exceeds the norm, it’s worth calling out. This hotel did.
First, the breakfast was better than any I’ve had at one of these style hotels. They had fresh fruit and a better selection of everything.
Second, the staff were exceptionally nice. Shout out to the very nice woman who staffed the breakfast for being warm and helpful.
Third, the workout room was well appointed
The front desk staff were as nice as can be.
So, if you...

"I remember when this property was built, when the Ballston area was just taking off. Now, the hotel is showing its age. Kind of shabby, dingy in places, in need of a makeover. But the location is good, the shuttle to the Ballston Metro convenient, a well-presented breakfast (unlike so many other hotels that have downsized or discontinued theirs). So the location and amenities tend to outweigh the overall condition of the property."

"This was a wonderful experience. I appreciated that room cleaning is every other day to save on the environment. Most requests route through the front staff, who were all very helpful, including requests for extra shampoo and basics like that. The breakfast is a good variety from cereals to breads/muffins/bagels to make-your-own waffles plus yogurt. I would suggest offering fruit that works well with plain yogurt. The plain, non-fat Greek yogurt (Chobani) was an awesome breakfast option, so...
