Sitting at the pool, reading and spending time taking in the breathtaking views with a bottle of wine. "Accommodations 5* Food 5* Property & Amenities 5* An inland riveria with what you would desire from a Michelin property. The rooms and common areas are picturesque and should be visited by Arch Digest. Well appointed and furnished to relax the mind. The staff is top notch. Not too assertive but very attentive and respectful. The restaurant options have a nice variety from bar to Michelin. This is what you want. A kitchen that can provide delicious bites on the go and the more exquisite dishes for that special moment. We personally, loved the breakfast and infinity pool in the mornings, property amenities during the day (gym, vineyard, spa), and bar/restaurant options in the evening. A beautiful oasis to call home base if you are looking to stay put in Douro valley or venture out into the countryside. ~ Cheers."

"Quinta Nova is a beautiful Quinta in spectacular surroundings. It is very comfortable and the service is impeccable - probably the best welcome of any hotel I have ever stayed at. The restaurant was also excellent - with enough choice for 3 fabulous meals even though the menu didn’t change during our 3 night stay. The walking trail around the vineyards is superb and a real highlight of our stay. "

I read some of the comments about five star hotel in previous reviews while the hotel itself may not be a five-star the staff and the service is easily five-star… I laugh at some of the comments…. if you want little slippers and matching housecoat, look like a prince and princess, then go to Palace… the meals were suburban with the first class chef from Brazil… when I came to the restaurant bar you couldn’t want more for service and quality…. awesome place for a weekend getaway… so inconvenient to get to some of the winery for tastings, but make the best of it…."
