"Overall okay. Only thing is the master bedroom aircon which takes awhile to fix. Owner very responsive and provided welcome drinks when arrived. The area is good and quite close to shops. Good to have a car though."

"I loved this unique hotel, it was a tick off the bucket to stay in the rainforest! The staff are so friendly and the food is excellent and great value for money. It is very easy to get to the animal centres and I was still able to access the internet so could order grab taxis. I’d definitely recommend bringing bug spray! 100% would recommend, where else can you stay in the rainforest?!"

"One night stay before heading to the Kinabatangan River. Easy walk to the Orangutan + Sunbear rehab centres (both amazing). Was a long walk to my room with many uneven steps along the boardwalk without any offer of help with my bags. I felt reception was quite poor - check in at 3pm and i arrived around 10.40 - was told I could put my bags down the end until check in but no further advice, but if I had rushed could have made the morning session with orangutans (I arrived just after 11 and was...

"Nice enough room, great location and excellent staff, comfy bed, only issue was a bad smell that came from the drains, the staff were quick to spray the drains for us but it only temporarily masked the smell. Didn’t affect our stay massively but would have been nice to not have an odour. Would still recommend for a short stay in sandakan!"

"Bolig:Super, skøn, autentisk træhytte, hvor man får følelsen af at bo midt i regnskoven. Restaurant: særdeles hyggelig med en fantastisk atmosfære. Mad og drikker er velsmagende og til en fin pris . "We have never been to an area like this before and came because of the wildlife and culture. Sepilok Forest Edge Resort provided both. We were so impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the way Sepilok invites you into their culture and the way the lodge was built with the environment in mind. "

"Staff are exceptional - friendly, kind, helpful. There's nothing fancy about the place, but nothing fancy is needed, given the surroundings. I especially enjoyed my balcony with the fan. Breakfast is decent and it's only a 20 min walk to the orangutan rehab centre and 5 mins to the rainforest discovery centre."

"stay was good hotel was new overall its good. The only negative comment i had was the lights at the walkway. It was dark after you exit the lift to your room. Lights was not on except for night only. During the day it was also dark as not much sun light was entering. Other than that its all good."

"For the area of Sandakan that this hotel is in this is a pretty good option if you really have to stay here! I would not recommend the area at all. The staff here were very attentive and friendly. The room was adequate but the pillows were horrendous! Just lumpy lumps of hard sponge! The shower and sink use a pump system which was not smooth at all and you either had a ‘power’ shower or a trickle.
