"Checked in at 1 a.m. Staff said breakfast was $11. We said we’d decide later since we might sleep in. When we came down a few hours later, they demanded double the price with no prior warning or mention of any time restriction. Very poor communication and unprofessional behavior. Extremely disappointed — do not recommend this hotel."

"this is for the adventerous, dont get scare on the way there the roads are a little rough due to the hotel still being developed. Chef Marcelo is a plus for this hotel and Sol as well. The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful."

"Hotel grounds were stunning. Staff is extremely friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. The food was delicious too. Unfortunately, the pool and El Grill restaurant were closed during our stay but because it was being refreshed and updated. I would recommend thisnplace to my friends and family. We will be back!"

"Room was adequate. There was a storm that passed through a few hours earlier and the power was out, they said it would be back on within 30 mins. It took a while to come back then was intermittent throughout the evening with a generator, not ideal for the need to charge things the night before our departure. The WiFi didn’t work (assuming due to the power) Beds were ok… pillows were rock hard. Not the best place to stay for more than 1 night"

"Appreciated an upgrade to a room with a mountain view which I had paid for after first being placed in a non view room. Rooms could use a clock, a tea offering, a magnifying mirror in the bathroom and bath soap accessible to tub not just in shower, for openers. Breakfast was good on weekends not so much weekdays. Had a pretty good massage and facial and sauna and swim. 6 day visit was mixed with other hits and misses."

"Good hotel, amenities are very good I stayed twice during my trip. I requested airport transfer and all was coordinated and on time. Housekeeping service good, room service 24 hours. Restaurants have good food Ecuadorian choices and a little bit of everything, wait staff was great. Over all a great experience and I loved the price for my reservations that was a reason why I booked with them and really met my expectations. I’ll be back to Hotel Finlandia. "

"The hotel is a “one of a kind”. Located in the historic part of Quito in a former large colonial home. The ornamental paintings on all the walls create an indoor garden atmosphere. Our room was quite large with a comfortable king size bed. The washroom is well appointed. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Eggs are made to order. The artisanal bread was a nice touch. There is no elevator, so ask for a room on a lower floor if you have mobility challenges or think the high altitude might make...
