"Great location far enough away from Mirissa. Peaceful and welcoming staff. Difficult to find a spot to swim in the ocean but possible to take a dip. Hotel pool wasn’t cleaned early enough for us to swim one morning (not open until after 8). Sri Lankan brekkie available as well as eggs and Gandon’s style, serving sizes were very generous. "

"I left my heart in Talalla Retreat. Incredible staff who were so welcoming and hard working, the Retreat itself is stunning. I had an upstairs bedroom so was able to fully enjoy the surroundings. The food was incredible. I felt super safe. I didn’t want to leave. A must visit - and please do as the Sri Lankan people need visitors right now. "

"Very calm and peaceful. The people who work there are very nice and friendly. They gave us an extra upgrade, so we had our own villa with pool. We love this place with the wonderful garden and animals. "

"An excellent location, and a wonderful pool. Good price, and a small, cute place. What was not so good, was our experience checking in. We had booked a garden room, but apparently these were "fully booked", and we were given a lesser room with a street view (a noisy street). We tried to explain that this was not what we booked, but they insisted it was the same, and that the two garden rooms were not available. We could switch the next day. That was fine, but we did not want to pay full price...

"Though its location is perfect, the accomodation facility is poor. I spent 2 nights with a lot of ants, and the bathroom is dirty and stinks. Shower pressure is a joke. The local hotel staff was friendly but the others were not."
