"I had a salty experience with this booking. I booked a premium room from hotels.com. When I checked in, the room I got was underwhelmingly different from the photos I saw on the website. I talked to the staff at reception and the hotel manager. As per them, there are many premium rooms in the hotel, But the photos they put on the website are of the 2 rooms that are in the corners. They said they posted photos of their best rooms. Agreed! But still, the photos of the rooms you put online should...

"I am writing to share feedback regarding my recent stay in your family room. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations due to several service and facility issues. First, the hotel felt quite congested, and room service was difficult to reach. After 9:00 PM, calls to the staff went unanswered. Additionally, the hair dryer policy is highly inconvenient; it is unusual for a hotel to have only five units to circulate among all guests upon request. Most concerning was the condition of the family room located in the cellar. We experienced a power outage during the night, and the staff was unwilling to turn on the generator. I believe there is significant room for improvement in these areas to ensure a better experience for future guests."

"It's a decent property. Staff is extremely courteous and helpful. Food is good. Room and toilet very clean. They have a cafe where they keep extremely delicious cream rolls. It's definitely not worth 4 stars accreditation. Wifi hardly worked. TV was so small that I wondered why that was even kept. My booking voucher said they bed size was such that 3 people can sleep. In reality it was barely good enough for 2 people to squeeze in. Location wise it's a hassle to go to MG market. Atleast I don't have athletic lungs to tolerate 20 mins of steep uphill climb to reach the hotel, if you are in the market. At night dogs keep howling and I could hardly sleep. As I explored, I realised it might be better to stay in a hotel which is a convenient walk to the market. There are actually quite a few. I was worried about quality of such hotels, compared to a "4 star" hotel like Fern. But my experiment surprised me immensely. Mostly people are very humble and courteous in Gangtok. Food is generally good everywhere. Cleanliness is the nature of this city. I won't name the hotel I moved to from Fern- but in no way it was less than the quality and service I received in Fern. "
