"The check-in was terrible. They didn’t accept a credit card. We had to pay in cash. The hotel is old. The location the worst. Drunk people outside at night, we had to call the police. Cotacachi is awesome but this hotel is the worst"

"Drove around with our taxi driver for 20 minutes trying to find the place. It wasn't where Google said it would be, and no one in Otavalo had any idea what it was. Finally found it, and the front desk said we didn't have a reservation. We showed him printed proof that we did, so he took us to a room and gave us towels and toilet paper. No key, and no wifi password. Two windows in the room were left ajar and they let in cold air. We promptly walked down the street and found a better hotel."

"to spend time at Casa Mojanda, in the company of your hosts; Annamarie and Diego. Settle in by the fireplace in your room, wander through the gardens, hike to a magnificent waterfall, take a horse ride through the Ecuadorian range! We stayed for three days after Galapagos trip to relax and unwind. Could not have chosen a better place to do it. Bravo Annamarie and Diego!! "Un lugar muy bonito y tranquilo. Vi algunos colibris en el jardín y la familia es muy bonito, habla Quechua y español. Es un camino corto desde el centro de Otavalo pero sentí seguro en caminar allí. So much quieter than other properties in the center of the city. Breakfast is simple but sufficient and I felt safe walking to and from the downtown area for other meals. The owners are wonderful and speak Quechua as well as Spanish. Some beautiful long-tailed hummingbirds were out in the garden."

"La Mirage was an oasis in Cotacachi. Really nice grounds with beautiful animals and flowers all over. Elegant rooms. Superior dining experience. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was very thoughtful and kind. Would stay again, and highly recomend."
