"This was an incredible gem of a place. Our host was so friendly and accomdating and drove us around to train stations and dinner since the area is remote. There's a remote beach a few steps away and with literally no one who visits it's very tranquil. The breakfast was delicious!"

"We've booked the only room with an ocean view balcony at the top floor (which is also their most expensive room) for 4 people for 2 nights. The room was nicely decorated but was tight for 4 people (not much floor space to walk around with 2 big beds in the room). Bathroom was clean but small again. The other annoying issue was our ocean view balcony (which we paid extra for) was used as a drying area for the homestay's laundry such as towels, big bed sheets and their own personal clothing items...

"We felt the warm hospitality from Marsu from the moment we step out of the Xincheng Station. Owner Horace was very kind to pick us up from the station and offered help with our luggage. Marsu was spacious, spotless and had a very sweet welcoming atmosphere. Horace was always super open about answering the many questions we have and really easy to talk to. We had some very interesting and fun chats over our stay about Taiwan. We were also given recommendation & drop off/pick ups to restaurants...

"I was able to store my bicycle securely behind the locked front gate, one of my main concerns when traveling by bicycle and staying in a large city. The room was quite large and clean but otherwise unremarkable, and there was a nice common area with a large table. The owners who live right next door were friendly and available if I needed them for anything. However, the breakfast was disappointing and was literally handed to me in a plastic bag."

"We were in this hotel when the big earthquake hit (epicenter about 10 miles south) and it was very scary. The hotel staff were so nice and calming and reassuring. they got right to work cleaning up all the broken stuff and checking all rooms and reassuring people. Then when it was discovered there was damage to the water tank and there would be no water in the guestrooms they found us another place to stay so we were perfectly comfortable and cared for.
