"We were welcomed warmly. We got two rooms (cabins). They are spacious. Plenty of room to unpack and put clothes away. There is a nice lounge, bar and dining area where you can relax. Wonderful views of sunset.
Food was outstanding. Good drinks selection. Staff is very attentive."
"The view is exceptional, absolutely outstanding, very beautiful. The only blemish for me was that the carpets were drenched, wet, and there was no hot water. In their defense I have to say though that there were very peculiar weather days preceding our stay there. Heavy rain in mid winter which is totally outside the norm and unheard of, and very cold days, even when we arrived it was still bitterly cold. One highlight though were the hot water bags that they placed in our beds while we were at dinner."
"The pool and gardens were immaculate and my family room was very clean and comfortable. On arrival the key would not open the door lock. It took 40 slow minutes to have it repaired and then he asked for a tip !!
I wish there was a power point near the bed so I could have my phone charging while in use.
The pool towels all need replacing and the sun lounges were covered in bird poop.
The Sunset tour was fantastic. I felt that we were not given enough time on the full day Soussvlei tour to climb Big Daddy and then walk amongst the trees in Deadvlei. Just walking around the trees was rushed because they were in a hurry to leave for their picnic area. The tour guides were excellent."
"There are beautiful places in the world — and then there is Kwessi Dunes.
Set against the vast, awe-inspiring landscape near Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, this lodge is something truly special. Being greeted by zebras when we arrived felt like stepping into a dream. The property itself is stunning, but it’s the people who make it unforgettable.
The staff are extraordinary. And Papa G, our guide, brought every experience to life with his depth of knowledge and genuine love for Namibia. Quad biking over the dunes, exploring Sossusvlei, relaxing with incredible massages — every moment felt perfect.
At night, the stars shine brighter than I’ve ever seen. Sleeping under the open sky in the outdoor bed is something everyone should experience at least once.
We got engaged here. That alone says everything. Kwessi Dunes will forever hold a piece of my heart. Thank you to the team for creating something so magical. We will be back."
