"Stopped in here for a one night stopover enroute to Marloth Park, selected due to high reviews score. A secure spot. Sue and Belinda went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, from catering to a (sort of) vegetarian, to extra blankets for a nippy night. Whilst the building is an historical one I feel the interior could do with a makeover - the main dining/social/pub area is quite cluttered with a strange mix of decor that does not appear to relate to either South Africa,...

"We were greeted on arrival by the owner, who was extremely welcoming and hospitable. The room was extremely spacious and well appointed and the breakfast excellent. Dullstroom is evidently the highest town in South Africa at well over 2000 metres above sea level. As such it is somewhat cooler than most of the country and provided a welcome respite. We would have no hesitation in recommending Critchley Hackle and hope to return ourselves next year."
