"We travel to appleby castle as often as possibly we luv the company of sally and her staff. It will be a shame for the castle to be sold its so relaxing and the staff are down to earth which is what we like as a group. "

"Our room, on the first floor, was excellent with lovely views. The food was of a high quality and the service was very good except on one of our three evenings when we were forgotten about and it took at least three complaints to get our meal started. On this occasion we were in the restaurant for about two hours and it took 45 minutes before we got our starter. This was a shame because otherwise everything was perfect."

"We stayed for 2 nights, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel doesn't have a car park but the young lady on reception told us what to do, she let us leave our bags in reception and gave us directions to the local cricket club just around the corner ( 2 min walk) there is an honesty box at the cricket club for the parking fee. "Wow. Amazing to find a Hotel like that in the middle of nowhere. While the decor is dated, the staff and food were great. We didn’t see any squirrels- which was a bit disappointing. Great walks around the area."
