"We stayed at this hotel for 2 days during the Xanthi festival in September. We chose this hotel because it looked like it was close to the old town on the map. When we arrived, we were surprised to find that it is actually situated a long way up a country road and quite isolated. We had intended to walk from the hotel to the festival in the evenings, but this was not possible as there is no foot path along the road. "Very nice hotel, in excellent location within 10 minutes walk of a very vibrant bar and restaurant area. Easy walk to Upper Town and the Station for day trip out to Edessa. Nice breakfast an great reception staff. The Expedia organised airport transfer limousine company was great too"

"Two 30yo males. Great service, beautiful hotel. Very accommodating of my partners gluten free diet. We had no car and the walk into town was very quick and to the beach was about 15 minutes, and not as difficult as other reviews made out. Not too many children and it never felt too busy at the pool. Exceptional service. Definitely recommend and would happily go back."

"Only small fridge, place was not in a good condition. Water pressure is low had to flush few times. Shower hose was broken. Only 2 electric sockets in a 4 people room. I wouldnt go back"

"Akrathos houses have a very good position. very close to the beach- 80m. have there own sunbeds and umbrella. Very close to the nearest village Polychrono- 500m. Apartments are very clean, the owner is very helpful person. I recommend to everyone. What is not good is close to the main road, and during night you are hearing the traffic. "

We loved having the beach just a few steps from our room, our private pool, and that we felt “away” from the busier street (yet close enough to walk to bars and restaurants)."
