"The Empress Hotel was excellent, as always. However, the surrounding area has deteriorated to the point that it no longer feels safe to walk the streets. There is now open drug use in the area, and we saw needles as well as used Naloxone kits very close to the hotel. We used to visit Victoria and the Empress regularly, but I cannot recommend a trip based on our most recent experience."

"The Hotel Grand Pacific is an amazing hotel. The employees are very friendly and efficient. The facility and amenities are wonderful and the indoor pool is huge. Daniel from the reception was so helpful. We arrived a couple of hours early and he was able to accommodate us. Very nice as I have chronic pain and the trip from North Van to Victoria wasn’t easy for me but I was able to rest up a bit for us to enjoy a walk around the hotel. It’s located in a very convenient location 2 min walk from the Parliament building, harbour and we didn’t need to get our car and we walked all around the area. Super recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Victoria. "
