"We visited CML during the dry season and selected it for its closeness to the national park and some of its most famous treks. The room we stayed in was spacious, warm (with a fireplace stocked with plenty of wood) and light. The water was fresh to drink from the tap (which is a bonus here in Peru!) and was warmed by solar panels; likewise, the shower stayed warm for a long time and maintained good levels of pressure. "We had a room on the 3rd floor, yet we could still hear the street noise very loudly as windows were very thin. Breakfast was poor as we are vegan."

"El Tumi must be the Fawlty Towers of Peru. Very friendly staff, and very little that really works. The toilet in my room would only flush if I had the hot wayer tap in the sink running. The cold water tap in the sink would only run if the cold water tap in the shower was running. I was only staying one night so I didn't complain but enjoyed the fun. When checking out the reception took about 20 minutes to figure out what room I stayed in and how much I should pay. The room itself was a bit worn...

"The property was very clean and well-maintained. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The area where the hotel is located is not in the center of town, but is a short walk to many shops and restaurants. The staff to fulfill our requests. They helped us find a tour operator, which was fabulous! The only downside was that there was no heat in the rooms or the bathroom. It gets chilly at night at that elevation. It would have been nice to have some heat in the bathroom so you don't get too cold getting out of the shower. "
