"The location is ideal if you will be catching the train somewhere. For the price, around $350 per night, I would have expected maid service daily, and a bit updated decor. It appears that the hotel hasn't been updated in quite a few decades. The breakfast was very basic. Toast, bagels, cereal, powdered eggs, sausages, pancakes. Friday they had no butter, peanut butter or jellies for the toasted items."

"The room above us was loud and walking around until 1:00 am . The room did not have black out curtains. We had been up and flying for 20 hours and only got 4 hours sleep ."

"DO NOT STAY HERE.....BEWARE.. PLACE IS A HOSTEL....SHARED BATHROOMS? I booked on Expedia flying into Anchorage in a hurry (my fault) and did not see where it said shared bathrooms... I had no idea that was even possible.. The room was tiny! The beds were singles (Tiny). We chose not to stay and share a bathroom with strangers and booked elsewhere that had a full size bed and a private bathroom. The management would not refund $1.00 of the over $225 that I paid and did not use... THIS PLACE IS...

"I hate to give a bad review since this is someone's livelihood however,I would not recommend this facility to anyone as a place to stay. It is run down, the grounds around it are unkempt and before I asked for a different room, the 1st room did not make a good impression with cigarette burns in the bed covers, wood rot in the bathroom, and a kitchenette that looked as though it was furnished from the dump. No, not even two stars from me."

"After reaching the room was too hot and AC was not working at all. Even opening the window did not cool down the room enough to have a sound sleep. There was no one in the reception to address the concern."

"I like the wooden style of this hotel. It feels warm to me! The room is very clean and housekeeping is very nice. There’s a small cafeteria and a nice restaurant/bar at the entrance. Parking is easy too. Recommend!"

"It was clean all over. I chose to sleep in the little spaces with the curtains and it was very comfortable. Staff were very helpful and provided help when needed. It was a nice experience actually making the waffle batter and you could make a chocolate chip version. Water was clean and tasted great. They also started a new company called “Otter Express”. They’ll save you lots of time if you don’t have a way of traveling to and fro."

"The shuttle from building to building was great. Food was good. The main lodge and scenery is beautiful. Overall, the rooms need a little refreshing and the staff was not friendly."

"The rooms were clean. The only issue we had the AC did not work but they brought a portable AC unit in and that worked great. The hotel is a little dated but not a deterrent. There is a large homeless population just down the street. But that is every where you go in Anchorage in our adventures through the city."
