One star would be a compliment
This one needs to be torn down. The first room I was sent to literally smelled like a well used litter box. The one I stayed in wasn't much bigger than the bed. Spend the extra $ and go somewhere else.

The facility appeared in very poor condition. We did not stay as the Dayton Motel did not show our reservation & had no available rooms. We expect, of course, that there will be no charges to our credit card.

Very small room, looks like people live in some of the rooms. The picture on the website look nothing like the place. Very run down, also smelled of stale cigarette smoke.

Hidden Gem
Hidden Gem with friendly helpful host that treats you like a long lost relative. I loved staying in this almost like small apartment with all the comforts of home. Front room was complete with couch, coffee table, microwave, kitchenette with small range oven and refrigerator. Full size bathroom and large bedroom with king size bed, tv and ac. Great base camp for our fishing trip. Parking right in front of door. Awesome!

This was probably the shabbiest motel I've ever stayed in. They had made efforts to update, but it just didn't work. They had installed a new (tall) toilet, but it wasn't fastened down on one side! I suspect a rotting floor. The bathroom floor itself sloped steeply to the outside wall. The room and bathroom were full of flies. The walls were very thin and the first night there, I was kept awake by people next door. The next day, I was pulling in to park, and other apparently long-term tenants told me I couldn't park there because "he" would be pissed because "he" had been staying there for 2 months. Again, kept awake by worry about what would happen to my car. Never again!!!

Lady at the desk was nice, the bed was hard as a rock. I don’t think the room had been updated sense the building was built. Really thin walls.

AWFUL
The door wouldn't close unless slammed. There was no security closure on the door. The carpet was filthy. The mattress was crushed and the pillows lumpy. There were no towel bars in the bathroom. The bathroom door would not securely close. The air conditioner didn't work. The room was poorly lit. The floor of the bathtub was V-shaped. The guests in the room next door were heavy smokers and the smoke seeped into my room.

Quiet night in a dated but clean motel. Innkeeper was very friendly and helpful. It’s no frills, including no ice or vending machines. Well worth the price for a quick overnight.

Mold/Mildew problem. Stinky!
Check in was fine. However I was greeted with the heaviest mold/mildew smell that I have ever smelled in a currently operating business. There was a moisture collection device in both the main room and in the bathroom. It looked as though the one in the main room was full and needed replacing. After leaving the window and door open as well as keeping the air flowing with the air conditioner the smell was brought down to a tolerable level. I am unsure whether the spots all over the bed spread were mold stains or part of the design. I don't think it was the design. Whatever the case, that bedspread must have been originally purchased for the motel decades ago. Water damage to the hanging wall art. Everything was "clean" as far as I could tell on a surface level but there must be an underlying issue that was either never truly dealt with or if the matter in which they are battling the issue is not strong enough. Would not stay at again.

Thin walls
Everything was fine, until people in the neighboring room arrived, and I discovered the walls are thin. I could easily hear the TV and conversations next door, making it difficult to sleep as they stayed up much later than me.

Nope. Just don't do it.
Pics looked nice, had decent reviews, so I went for it. Showed up and found out the place: - Hasn't had a handyman in months, the owner does everything right now. - is next to a drug house and rehab center. - is not nearly as nice looking as the pictures No deadbolt on the front door, stains on the carpet, terrible musty smell, soft spot on the floor, back window looked out to a pile of toilets. Ceilings were 6 and a half feet tall or so. Dirty. Just don't do it.
