Hotel was closed down. No way to request refund

Arrived and found hotel was closed down. Front doors chained and padlocked. I received no notice about closure. Had to find a different hotel on my own late at night. Cannot find a way on the Expedia website to submit a request for refund. Very frustrated with Expedia.

Gedämpfter Notstromgenerator

Für eine Nacht ganz ok. Die Zimmer nach hinten raus sind zum Vergessen, da das Brummen des Notstomgenerators hinterm Haus trotzdem und auch bei geschlossenen Fenstern nachts hörbar ist. Die Zimmer nach vorne raus sind trotz Strassenlärm wegen der Sicht übers Gelände zu bevorzugen. Das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen und nur 20 Min. (nachts) oder 60 Min. (Tagsüber) vom Flughafen entfernt. Hotelshuttle kostet 20$, Taxi vom Flughafen 30$ (nicht verhandelbar), zum Flughafen verhandelbar.

Greit hotell til pris i samsvar med standard forholdvis nært Julius Nyerere Intarnational Airport. Viktig poeng p.g.a. voldsomme trafikkproblemer i Dar es Salam.

Atendeu um pernoite

O quarto estava com cheiro de mofo e o banheiro era muito antigo, mas atendeu um pernoite. Relativamente próximo ao aeroporto.

Quite close to airport

This hotel has changed ownership and is no longer The Paradise Express. It is now the Accomondia Hotel. It is tired and in need of refurbishing. The best think about it is its proximity to the airport, which is why we chose it. Also the staff were very nice and wanted to please us. When we were there, they were painting the dining room so it was not open for dinner. We were, however, able to order food and it was brought down to the coffee bar in the lobby. The hotel is Muslim owned and hence there is no liquor, beer or wine. The shower is not enclosed, but just has a curtain around it, and a low lip. so the water gets all over the floor. Also, there is construction going on, and we heard a persistent tapping noise until 10:00 pm. Things may improve in the future, but, at the moment, I would not recommend this hotel. Fortunately it was not expensive by African standards.

Great hotel just outside of the city center of Dar, but only a five minute walk away. Nice helpful staff and good comfort!

Good value but a couple of annoyances

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and it was fair value for money. Location is good for access to centre of town. The room was good. Good wireless connection and great café with really good coffee. The two negatives were that smoking seems to be permitted in the café, and all the machines (bikes, treadmills) in the gym did not seem to be working at all

Als transit hotel ok

Das hotel heisst schon seid Januar 2012 nicht mehr paradise express hotel, zum glück wusste der taxi chauffeur das, im hotel konnte man dann aber trotzdem noch mit dieser buchung übernachte . Zimmer war oke, ac auch, frühstück sogar sehr gut und das personal nett. Da der lift kaput war haben sie die ganze nacht durchgehämmert, konnte nicht wirklich schlafen, dafür ging der lift wieder am nächsten tag. Als transit hotel ok.

Rent og helt okey og prisen, men frokosten var forferdelig. (en natt...) Clean and okey for the price, but breakfast was horrible. (for one night...)

Only suitable for short rest between flights

The only reason to choose this hotel is that it's fairly close to the airport. We had seven hours between flights and used it to take a nap and shower. If you will be in DAR for more than 12 hours, I would not stay here. Check-in takes about 30 minutes while they call Hotels.com to verify the reservation. Do not eat the food. It is terrible and also made my wife sick.

2 hours before we could get a proper room

problem 1: the air condition was not working problem 2: the telephone did not work problem 3: the door of the bathroom didn´t close problem 4: they gave us another room that was with the shower full of hairs we were for almost 2 hours trying to get a room.

The rooms smelled bad, the beds were very very hard, the staff were confused when it came to airport transfer, despite the many people in the staff the dirty dishes from roomservice would sit out in the hallway for hours without getting removed. The food in the City Grill Restaurant was good.

You get what you pay for

This is a great place to stay near the airport at a low cost! It was perfect for our stay as we were only there for a quick overnight between flights. The facilities were adequate but if you prefer somthing a little nicer look for one a little farther down the road.

Ok hotel, but I wouldn't go back

The hotel is conveniently situated from Dar Es Salaam airport, however, for getting to the "attractions" it is not that convenient. You will have to weigh the cost of taxi fare against staying at a more convenient hotel which is situated closer to the "attractions". The hotel itself is fine, however, the shower was not enclosed and only had a shower curtain to keep the water from going all over the floor. So we needed to use towels to keep the water from going all over the bathroom floor. The shower pressure wasn't that good as well. However, the hotel staff are friendly and willing to help, those that understand English that is. The breakfast buffet was standard but filling, it saw to your needs. Overall, the hotel was tolerable as we only stayed there 3 days, but for longer trips I'd suggest a hotel closer to the coast with more amenities.

Billig og svært bra hotel med svært god mat

Hotellet ligger både nært flyplassen og nært sentrum - Har svært bra service med døgnåpen restaurant som serverer mat av svært høy kvalitet - beste biffen jeg har spist i Tanzania - hotellet selger ikke alkohol, og det pågår byggearbeider rundt hotellet, samt at terrassen er under oppussing. Hotellet er svært rent, selv om enkelte rom er noe nedslitt. Svært god valuta for pengene. Kan trygt anbefales andre reisende.
