"It's an old hotel. 50 yrs. So it's tired and needs a refurbish. Rooms are OK, but bathroom leaks water from the shower leaving puddles of water in the bathroom. Could smell urine in room 205 when using the shower so probably linked to the drainage system. "Hikkaduwa Beach Hotel is located right on the beach, the ocean is just a step away. We couldn't have asked for a better location. "The pool and beach setting were incredible, the room was spacious and had nice amenitys, the beds were comfy and balconys had a stunning view. We upgraded to half board when we arrived, breakfast had lots of options, dinner was always really high quality food, however the amount offered did seem to depend on how many people were in the hotel at the time. "We were welcomed with big smiles and fresh complimentary juices. Our room was upgraded without additional fees. Good variety of breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. "Great stay! Very reasonable price so I cannot complain. King bed room on 2nd floor. Right on the beach and property has a pool (I did not use). Wifi is not strong. On the last night, the AC in my room kept saying “EC” and not working. I would’ve told staff if I had noticed it before late in the evening on my last night. Also, did not appear to be hot water in my room, but it’s a very hot climate so the cool water was nice. Did not eat at the restaurant as other options nearby were less costly. "
