Awesome Place for the Races
We was in town for the August night races at Bristol. Our host was extremely nice at check in. We booked. room with a shared bathroom, but never had ny problems accessing it for showers or to freshen up before leaving for the races. We are on a Keto diet and our host made sure we had an awesome breakfast every morning. But I'll say I was about to go off the diet when I was the amazing waffles and pancakes she prepared.

A beautiful old home filled with antiques. We had a wonderful (huge) breakfast. The hostess was very accommodating. We will definitely be back.

The owner of the inn was very gracious and accommodating. I would recommend this inn to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area and will stay here again the next time I visit.

Southern Hospitality at it's Best!
Wow! Did not know what to expect.This olace had great reviews, but the pictures were hard to read. Well, there was no need to worry....this place waa AMAZING! Beautiful wood walls, doors and ceilings took me on a nostalgic trip back to my childhood with reminders of my grandma's and mom's house. The host were beyond sweet and catered to every detail. The room was clean, bed was comfy, the bathrrom spacious, and the food was REMARKABLE!!!! I cant wait to return and take family/ friends back to experience this jewel!!!

Great Getaway!

Beautiful old home. Very well taken care of. DIdn't like having to lock the front door all the time after ourselves. They need a different door with a combination lock which will make security better and easire.

Hi Randy, and thank you for your kind words about the inn. I understand what you're saying. It comes up from time to time. The thing is - the door is about as old as the house, and we're reluctant to do anything to take away from the original condition. Some B&B's may be set up as you mention, some have a curfew and don't even allow the guests the autonomy to come and go at their leisure. The combo lock/ key card situation is available at more modern facilities (motels/hotels, etc) and may be a better fit considering the level of importance this holds for you. Even for a town as small as Damascus, it seems that there is something for everyone. We strive to help our guests or prospective guests find the best fit for them, as our goal is a great experience in this sweet little mountain town. I'm sorry we weren't aware of this requirement initially, or we could have steered you to a much better experience. We wish you happy trails in your strive to complete the AT.

The perfect place to stay
It was a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the front porch swing. Meals and accommodations were great. They went out of their way for us. We’re both diabetic and they made special meals just for us.

We will definitely be back! Beautiful historic home. The breakfast was unbelievable! It was so quiet. The place was full and we never heard another guest. Location is great, right in Damascus but secluded and quiet at the same time.

A Comfortable And Memorable Stay
The home was both historic and beautiful! The woodwork in the house was amazing! Kathleen attended to our needs and our comfort the entire time, and her breakfasts were delicious!

My first experience with a bed and breakfast far exceeded my expectation. As a motorcycle enthusiast, I traveled to Damascus, VA to travel the beautiful, and challenging, roads. Staying at The Mountain Laurel Inn made the experience even better. At the inn, you will be greeted as a new family member, stopping by to visit and relax. After a day of motorcycle riding, I came home to relax on either the front porch rocking chairs, or the upstairs patio. However, the breakfast served, was the most pleasant surprise. The eggs benedicts are phenomenal, as well as, the special waffles topped with fresh fruit! The hosts of the inn are wonderful folks to spend some time with. And, I appreciate their hospitality. Kathleen was very friendly and accommodating. She gave us a tour of the beautiful house, which has several shared spaces that make relaxing outside your room a bonus—living room with gas fireplace, inviting open and screened porches, breakfast room with access any time. We were leaving early in the morning, before breakfast was served, so she made us delicious egg-and-bacon sandwiches to go. Have to find an excuse to go back and stay longer.
