"We really enjoyed our short stay. Hotel sits in a large open area surrounded by a loch and golf course (although it could have been better signposted from the main road!). Room was very comfortable and spacious with a view over the golf club. Nice to have a bath and a shower. Leisure facilities were excellent. Lovely pool and jacuzzi heated to a good temperature (maybe too warm for serious swimmers!). Sauna and small gym. We had a nice dinner with good menu choice. Good was well presented and served promptly. Check-in and check-out experience could have been slightly better. At check-in we had to queue then I struggled to hear or understand the member of staff. At check-out I would have liked a bit more interaction. But minor negatives. Overall I liked the hotel and would have no hesitation about recommending. Hopefully we will return soon."

"Breakfast was lush, a few bits had went unnoticed in the cleaning, Also I'm not happy I booked a double room and it was two single beds pushed together, As we were getting jiggy they came apart, not the worst place ever but not the best x"

"Everything was great except the food i tried the lamb rump which was served extremely rare with peapods, green beans and mashed potatoes Lamb was very chewy to the point I couldnt eat it and peapods (not a great choice) were overcooked. Location is not near Dumfries which I had not noticed when booking Breakfast was ok but sausage undercooked."

"Iโve stayed at the Manor House many times on business and enjoyed it immensely. The owners are so warm and canโt do enough for you. The free parking is a boon and the breakfasts are excellent. Itโs just a few paces to the centre of Cockermouth. I recommend the Jennings bar in the newly opened brewery. Itโs a Mecca for real ale aficionados and the terrace overlooking the river is fab"
