"Well situated opposite the Gare (I stayed 7 nights and made many day trips by train). My room was on the 3rd floor and faced the Place de la Gare, but the double glazing meant that noise disturbance from traffic was minimal (but if you want a quiet room it may be best to ask for a room at the back facing the courtyard). I was pleased that the room had a desk. The bathroom was small but well designed. The staff (who all spoke good English) were friendly and helpful. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on it. On my last day, I wanted to leave my luggage until the evening. This is done by using individual lockers in the receptiona area and I needed to insert 4 euros (2 x 2 euro coins) to use a large locker. It wasn't a lot of money and I didn't mind, but in more than 40 years of trevelling this is the first time a hotel has ever asked me to pay to leave my luggage for the rest of the day after checking out! But overall, the hotel was very good value."

"The room was beautifully appointed, with the bathroom and changing area well separated from the sleeping area. The balcony gave a nice view of nearby architecture. The location of the hotel was in walking distance to the main Republic plaza, dining, and the Palais des Beaux Arts. The Citadel park, also in walking distance, served as a viewing point of the solar eclipse. Eurostar train service to London and other locations in mainland Europe was a short 20 min walk away. The buffet breakfast was excellent and I especially appreciated the water spiggets on each floor to fill up your water bottle with either plain filtered or carbonated water. The front desk was mostly helpful, although one woman could have used additional customer support training in cheerfully answering questions. The room was cooled to a comfortable temperature, a welcome respite from the outside heat wave. All in all a wonderful experience. I would return."

"Fairly clean, modern apartments. Some areas like the tiles in the bathroom and the ceiling are showing signs of wear and our sofa was very stained. The location was quite far out on an industrial estate but we used uber to get to the city centre which was around £25 one way as the metro was suspended. I am not sure I would stay again but it was cheap enough and quiet which meant a good nights sleep. "
