Cottages in Cruz Bay

"We had a terrible stay at the Westin on St. John. Unfortunately, this luxury hotel gave away our room even after I had called to confirm that we would be one day late due to airplane issues and we understood that we may have to pay for that night. When we arrived on St. John and went to the desk, we were told that we had been a no-show and they gave away our room. Luckily there was one studio left, but we had paid for a two bedroom. We never received the difference in the price of the room. On top of that there were erroneous holds placed on my credit card for very large amounts. The desk staff didn't know why those holds were being placed and could not tell me when they would be removed. By the end of our trip, I had several K worth of charges placed on my credit card. We checked in twice a day to ask about them and try to clear it up. The manager always seemed to be busy and did not respond to all of our calls. By the final day, we were able to talk to the manager, who still was unable to tell us why these charges were being placed on our account, but did write us a letter stating that we were not responsible for those charges. Unfortunately, that was my travel credit card and it caused issues for the rest of our trip because I had less to spend. We were given a small resort credit for the inconvenience. This was unacceptable but at that point we just needed to be done with them. Awful experience and they lost out on a potential client for time share. "

"Friendly and helpful staff, good clean room and located right in Cruz Bay. Unfortunately, our stay coincided with an island wide power outage that lasted almost 3 days and the hotel, like many others, doesn't a backup generator system. The government run utility is known for unreliable service and I feel sorry for the businesses that rely on it. "

"Housekeeping was great. Clean room every day. WiFi was a little more challenging but overall worked. "

"Our stay at The Saint was great, the room was clean and had a beautiful view of the Sea. The balcony had lovely flowering plants nearby that were wonderfully fragrant which added a special feature to our morning coffee on the porch. The pool bar was perfectly situated to watch the sunset while lounging in a floating chair with a cocktail. Good location with parking and walking distance to Cruz Bay. "

"Property was beautiful and loved the location. We were able to walk to a grocery store and restaurants. View was amazing and the decor was very boho. Loved it! "

"Great location to Cruz bay and restaurants, shopping etc.. The villa was nice and views were outstanding. Staff was timely and courteous to our needs in ways they could be of assistance. Unfortunately we experienced several power outages (one over 24hrs) water outages and no internet connection for most of our trip. Although power outages and internet were of no ones fault, there needs to be measures put in place ex generators or power walls and upgrade to internet and availability before we would consider returning to stay. There were no mentions of compensation for the inconvenience, as a business owner i expected there to be, but that never happened. I have compensated customers for much less of an inconvenience, in a effort to keep customers satisfied "
