"Friendly staff and good food, but service at dinner and breakfast a little slow. Signage for guest check-in is poor and confusing. Bedroom was small, but ok for one night and bathroom had good amenities and powerful shower. Overall cleanliness needs attention however the location was perfect for a riverside stay with easy walking to the city's main attractions"

"This was a good experience. The only issue was the wardrobe was a shelf with a few hangers and no drawers, so we basically kept everything in a suitcase, but we only stayed for 3 nights, so maybe other rooms had more storage. The room was spacious and very pleasant and we enjoyed our stay. Breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice. There was also a reasonably comprehensive evening menu. Recommended."

The room was large and beautifully decorated, the bed was huge and comfortable. We were in the very top of the hotel in room 12 with the low door to enter and we loved it. "This was an excellent place for an overnight stay. The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. The only thing was they had forgotten to provide towels and toilet paper. This was easily sorted when we asked. We had an evening meal and breakfast, which were both good. We would stay here again"

"Fantastic hotel in every respect. I have just returned from a three-night stay. My son was staying in a cottage just down the road and this was a perfect location for all of us. The hotel is lovely and the friendly service was second to none. Every single member of staff (reception, bar staff, restaurant staff, and the cleaners) was so helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was delicious- both the breakfasts and evening meals. Would definitely stay again. "

"Lovely quirky old hotel but bathroom layout poor, could do with removing bath and putting a shower only, it would be much safer. Reception lady at 2pm was very abrupt and just said “check in not till 3” we only wanted to let her know we had parked in the patrons only car park. Breakfast staff and checking out lady, lovely."

We were impressed with the decor and fealt comfortable right from first entering. Yes it could do with a bit of an update but nothing to worry about at all.
