"The hotel appears to be made of different buildings. Because of this, it makes the hotel wonderful to explore. The breakfast is also very nice, with a wide variety offered. Two of us were there for nine days. The room we were in was very nice but a little sparse as it didn't have a place to unpack your clothes. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. "The rooms and building were in good condition. Very comfortable rooms. The staff were very friendly as well. Recommended. The only 2 negatives are that the jacizzi hit tub was non functional and the water was extremely luke warm at best (cold side). As well,workers started renos at 7am all week and we feel this should have been managed better with a 9am start. It is a hotel after all. We were never warned about this event."

"Pros:The location is very close to the historic area and, most importantly, it has parking, which was the deciding factor in choosing this guesthouse. It’s only about a 7-minute walk to the main square. I arrived about two and a half hours before my scheduled check-in time, mainly to see if I could leave my car in the parking area and have a look around the property. There was absolutely no problem. On the contrary, the receptionist kindly offered to let me check in early, which I really appreciated.The rooms are spacious, spotless, and well ventilated. This is particularly important in historic cities, where mold can sometimes be an issue in older buildings.Breakfast is generous, with a good selection of fresh juices. Things to consider:There is an additional fee for using the towels that was not disclosed on the website. Interestingly, this is the second place I have stayed at in Brazil that charges an extra fee if a towel has makeup stains. I found the fee quite excessive — US$11 per towel. As a suggestion, bring your own makeup-removal wipes (which are usually provided in hotels) or an extra hand towel.There was only one hand towel and two bath towels in the room. I’m normally used to staying in places where each guest receives an individual set of towels. This was not a major issue and could easily be resolved, but it might be worth considering providing one bath and face towel set per person. In my case, I found the guesthouse quite noisy. ( Main street)"

"The pool bartender made the best caipirinhas. The room was very clean and property was well maintained. The breakfast was good and staff helpful and friendly. It is about a 10 minute walk to town, we walked every day. It is uphill on the way back so it was a good workout. If you don’t want a steep uphill walk on the way back, consider driving or a taxi. We would stay there again."
