The location is great and the hotel staff is welcoming. It’s more run down than advertising videos show. Housekeeping was short staffed one day but we were ok with that and just asked for a couple of towels and received it right away. Honny and Sim at the front desk were extra helpful and wonderful in helping when our key entry needed a reboot and when we needed a taxi reserved for the airport. Super quick service! The cafe right next door was perfect for breakfast. The short walk to Darling Harbor was safe and easy! Our best meal was at Nick’s near the water. Went to Sea Life which is also at Darling Harbor. We also easily walked to QVB and shops, and Chinatown for a variety of Asian food. Loved this location and the hotel staff. Thank you!

Beautiful but deadly. Crocodiles, bull sharks and box jelly fish (during the wet season) make it extremely dangerous to enter the waters close to shore. There are netted swimming areas but they don’t stop the tiny irukandji jelly fish.  To be safe you should wear a stinger suit or just stay out of the water. The Barrier Reef is much safer but stinger suits are required at certain times of the year.
