"This was a wonderful stay in a beautiful building and grounds. We stayed in ‘The Princess’s Room’ which is glorious. Full length embroidered silk curtains and lovely feature detailing. It is not the room to choose if you want a ‘normal’ easy access shower; it’s original 1920’s fittings are a very large enamel bath (good for two) and a hand held only shower head. "I want to extend a personal thank you to Gwen, who went far above and beyond to improve my stay. After finding out that my reserved parking spot was already taken, Gwen not only helped me find a new spot, she personally escorted me to and from the parking spot. Despite my objections, she also transported my luggage and gave me tips on how to make the most of my time in the area. The world needs more people like Gwen."

"We enjoyed our stay. We had a superior cottage room which was very spacious although no real view from the balcony The spa pools were very well done but very busy - probably too busy. The weather was very hot so the pools were full not only with hotel guests but also spa guests. We ate in the fine dining restaurant and the crêperie ie the same small restaurant which has a different approach at lunchtime and in the evening. Both very good. The bar and terrace were also a lovely place to sit and have a drink The one thing which would discourage me from staying again was that the hotel just seemed too busy - large groups whether spa days or business groups. Other than the small restaurants it seemed to lack intimacy"
