The owner, Tina, was very attentive, friendly and helpful - from local sightseeing recommendations to a lovely breakfast with locally sourced items. "This is a unique hotel. I felt privileged to stay there. The owners and staff are extremely helpful. The public areas are fabulous. I have paid to visit stately homes which have been less sumptuous! The gardens are also beautiful and the swimming pool(which is heated) was appreciated. I liked the honesty bar and the fact that we could use the kitchen and dining room. We ate in both nights, as I could not imagine finding a better setting! A dear even came into the garden while we were having dinner on the second night! While there is wifi, and tea and a kettle provided in the room, do not expect all mod cons and contemporary furniture. Appreciate the antiques! Pretend you are one of the aristocracy! We had breakfast both mornings: Continental plus eggs cooked to order. Beautifully presented and delicious."
